Exhibit: Flack's 405 Collection

Exhibit from Jason Scott, on August, 2007

01. SAZ - Soulz at Zero. Soulz at Zero was formed by myself (Flack) and The Stranger in 1994. It is considered to be the first dedicated "lit group." We modeled our viewer and pack releases after the ansi/ascii/art groups of the time, except instead of pictures we released poems and short stories. While other groups were mixing lits in with their art packs or creating "lit divisions", I believe SAZ to be the first dedicated lit group. More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soulz_at_zero

02. SiTH - SiTH stands for Sick in The Head and was my attempt at cDc-style writing. I formed SiTH after attending Hohocon in 1994 and meeting the c0w (although I was familiar with them before that, of course). Although I had a few guest writers, I was the only official member. SiTH was just something dumb I started that ended up with a bit of a local following. Looking back, the writing is awful.

03. TBH405 - The Brotherhood of 405. TBH405 was founded in the fall of 1994 by Yaun-Ti and consisted of the "elite" members of the 405 (central Oklahoma) area code. The TBH405 packs consist of local "scene" news, polls, information, reviews, and rants. Plenty of local "drama" included in these. TBH405's break up in 1996 coincided with the dissolution of the local BBS scene.

04. TDKEB - TDKEB was the female answer to TBH405. Although the meaning of the acronym was a tight secret, insiders realized that the five letters were actually the initials of the five girls (Tina, Dee, Kristen, Erica and Brittney). Here's a description I recently wrote about the group:

"In the mid 1990's, five fun-loving modem chicks from 405 formed an alliance known as TDKEB. While other local groups such as the Brotherhood of 405 (TBH405) focused on the HPVAC scene and Soulz at Zero (SAZ) dedicated themselves to producing original horror-based lit, TDKEB was something entirely different. TDKEB packs were written from a girl's point of view and filled with in-jokes, original poems, song lyrics, news, local gossip, silly rhymes, and bits of information hidden between bits of intentional misinformation. The five members of TDKEB (Violetta Kitten, Deranged, Black Sunshine, Anacodia and Raven) were like real life versions of Tarantino's Fox Force Five ("Fox, as in we're a bunch of foxy chicks. Force, as in we're a force to be reckoned with. Five, as in there's one..two ...three..four..five of us"). Each of the girls had their own talents, personalities, quirks and contributions to the group. Each one emanated style. Reading the TDKEB zines was like eavesdropping on your older sister's slumber parties. The group was simultaneously chaotic, silly, and dangerous. The girls were fun and their packs were addictive, with even the most arduous sceners taking time out of their busy warez-trading schedules in order to search each new issue for news, gossip, or simply their own name. The essence of the group culminated with the group's official BBS, Twisted Phallacy. Run by Black Sunshine and Deranged (who were roomates), the BBS gave the girls a place to run wild where the boys could chase them while wagging their tails. What started off as a girls-only clique spread across the entire 405 scene as a result of the BBS, the group's packs, and of course, infamous TDKEB parties. In what most considered to be a "man's hobby," the TDKEB girls kicked ass, took names, and wrote rhymes about them."
