WBC System Information * WBC is a full-service, commercial BBS, dedicated to providing the most current and useful services to it's members. * WBC operates on 10 33mhz IBM compatibles, all linked using Novell Netware software and Ethernet hardware. All nodes sport ZyXel 14.4kbaud (16.8 proprietary) modems, except one which runs a US Robotics HST dual- standard. WBC also has a "ninth" node, which is dedicated to mail transfer only. * WBC is owned and operated by Steve Leu, Dan East, and Scott Walker. His goal at the time was simply to provide a means to easier communicate with his friends. Since that time, however, it has grown far beyond what Steve had ever expected!! April 4, 1993, just over 2 years after Steve started the Odessey, West Branch Connection went on-line. With 8 nodes, 6.5 Gigabytes online, over 40,000 files, 1000 conferences, and many other features, this BBS was sure to become one of the FASTEST groing BBS's around! With a new goal: To provide the best possible service to it's members, with hopes of becoming a world-wide name! Joining Steve in this quest were Dan East, and Scott Walker. The three of them are WBC Staff. They moved the system to Aurora, and began the tedious task of creating WBC. This involved purchasing 7 new computors, all new 16.8kbaud v.32bis high speed modems (Zyzels), and a super-fast Novel Network (t), which links the entire system together.
