Joan Chevalier's Poetry
I don't really know anything about Joan except she was a user of
Apollo BBS. Anyone, Anyone, Bueller?

Subj : That Great White Sheet
I dreamt myself
small
very small,
and sitting on
the spacing bar
of a giant
typewriter,
my legs with room
to dangle.
Each letter
arrayed itself
before me
making a grand display.
Oh what fun to
hop on a key
and hop from one to the
next,
making things
happen on that great
white sheet
above me!

Subj : Something Having the Appearance of Truth
Something having the appearance of truth
knocked on my door.
I didn't know whether it was
false
or true appearing.
I let it in,
that much daring,
and found
faith.

Subj : Memory
Memory
Gathers up
pieces of the past
to be placed
like precious heirlooms
gently
into the velvet-box
of the heart.
And taken out
fondly:
Time's treasures.

Subj : Poem
When I am yin
you are yang.
When yang I am
yin you are and fine.
Cycles endlessly
the wheel spins
Spokes we are
of one another

Subj : Quiet Grace
In the early morning night
we lay,
our breathing in cadence.
soft lunar light
silhouettes your form:
quiet grace--
two huddled
against the vague spaciousness.
