Let's hear it for Little Hitler, he appears to have learned his lessons
well. Hitler never officially infringed on rights, however, his brown
shirts and their billy clubs were pretty efficient! As for the
editorial, I never heard such BULL in my life! Good Luck in court!

Re: YESTERDAY'S SHOW...
I tuned in to KFYI yesterday afternoon, 3:15, hoping to catch Tom....
alas, he wasn't there... Pretty nice of his employer to give him a few
hours off so he could go to court.... First time I had heard Victoria
Jones (?).... Although I'm sure she is a nice enough person, I didn't
enjoy her show.... She was just so damn... polite... I dozed off before
the second hour rolled along... And I couldn't believe that psychic was
on as a serious guest... you let one of them on, next thing you know, KFYI
will be run over by every gardener, attorney, and How-To book writer
available.... which is perhaps what Fred Weber wants? I don't know...
I rue the day I turn on the radio to hear....
"This is KFYI. Today's guest is Bob, who drinks a lot of beer. So,
Bob, just how much beer do you drink, anyway?"
(Weber's fantasy guest, to be sure.)

Yeah and the next thing you know KTAR will be advertising its broadcast
of "the valley's only call-in radio dating service." There's more of a
chance of Dial-a-Date on KTAR then there is on KFYI while feeble-minded
Fred is in power.

ATTENTION ------ ATTENTION -------- ATTENTION
I have been informed that Bill Dougan of Friends of Tom Leykis, has
reached a settlement with The Broadcast Group. There will be no "day in
court" on Friday, May 6th.
I HAVE BEEN RELEASED FROM THE LAW SUIT. NO SETTLEMENT, JUST RELEASED!!!
Just wanted to let everyone know, so that people would not show up in
court to see whats going on. Keep you eyes on the local newspapers for
various details, etc.

Jami made a comment that Tom had the ability and control to be put back
on the station full time. When Tom came on at 3:00, he challenged her
to call in to discuss it. She showed up in the studio to debate the
issue. If you'd like, I have it on tape, give me a call.

It wasn't any thing major, Tom had heard her say that his staying on was
probably up to him. He challenged her to be more specific. She said that
it was basically up to him to make the negotiations go smoothly. It was
a little hot but I don't think she made any points. She confirmed my
opinion of her, that she'll do whatever it takes to keep the boss happy!

Re: LIVEN IT UP
Seems like there is this dark cloud hanging around.
Whatever was the demise of such a great laugh-at-the-idiots hour
like Dial a Date? I mean really, entertaining and fast moving.
Of course, Entertainment at the expense of others, but we laughed hard
anyway.
What was that slip on the microphone I heared ealier this evening?
"Jim told (forgot other name)..about it and.."
It was right at the beginning of the 5:00 Air Traffic watch.
Getting careless , Tom, don't you know that those estranged Mecham
supporters are out there starving for a pound of flesh...especially from
you, their most hated protagonist?
That encounter with Jamie the other day was indeed weird. Seems like she
could go for the gold at the U.S. Backstroking Olympics.
Then again, I'm sure neither of you really wanted that.
So far, KFYI radio has amounted to more than radio...at least at the
Airport, we consider it a meeting place after work.
Keep up the harassment and good work.

Re: (R)FRIENDS OF TOM LEYKIS
I didn't catch the announcement on KFYI, but I did talk to Bill Dougan.
He said that he had settled out of court. I know the basis, but do not
want to discuss it without his approval. Weber dropped the lawsuit
against me today at 4:00. I don't know the status of anyone else. Bill
Dougan and "Friends ..." are not allowed to do certain things. I have
no restrictions against me. I am not, however, going to continue until
such time as I see how things work out between Tom and Fred. Then I
will make a decision.
You know, the only thing that I wanted from the beginning was to have
Tom Leykis back on his regular slot doing his thing. If and when that
happens, I may form a club known as the Tom Leykis Fan Club or The Tom
Leykis/KFYI Fan Club. I have been and can still be KFYI's biggest
supporter, if only Fred would understand.....

Well Gene, seems that Tuesday afternoon, through a series of
communications, I was put in tough with Mr. Fine, the atty., who
said he would drop my name from the list and apologised for any
inconvienence. (sp?) Nice timing, I talked to him 20 minutes
before I was due to sit down with MY atty. and sort this thing out.
I would have said so earlier but I was waiting for written verification
from Mr. Fine through the mail before I spoke up. I'm glad this whole
thing is over but I have to wonder if it wasn't planned this way.

Re: WED. SHOW.
Tom, you have asked that more posts be made public so I'll leave this
one open. I listened to your show the other day before you got into it
with Jamie. You, with great intonation, stated repeatedly the "you
don't know me". 'You don't know anything about anyone on the radio'.
And other comments to that effect. That short segment put me off a
little. I remember you saying that what we hear is the real you.
Your personality, your thoughts, ideas, morals. These sets of comments
seem to contradict each other. Granted, we do not know whether you
wear your shorts to bed, or a bunny suit with little feet, but if
you were honest about presenting the real you, I think I know you
pretty well. Having listened as long as I have, I'm pretty good at
figuring out your stance before you state it. I have a good feeling
for where your mind is at. If you present the real you, you must
admit that regular listeners know your attitudes, your views, and
your point of view. What else is needed to 'know' a person. These
perspectives make up the essence of a person. Stripped of the
superfulous B.S., we are nothing but our attitudes.
one of the best at your craft, but those comments bothered me.
It seems to me that you were either stretching things when you
claimes to be yourself, or we know you better than you think.
Thanks and best of luck, John Schuch

I heard her too. I always laugh like crazy when I hear that bimbo on.
I really enjoy listening to some of the regulars like Mary, Raven,
Kathy from Tempe, JT from Scottsdale, Terry the terrorist, Confederate
Rose (Did you know Rose is a transexual), etc. I used to also get a
kick out of this one woman Terry who, honest to God, was playing with
half a deck. She's probably in an asylum now. It's a crazy world out
there- and KFYI exposes some delightful people (Raven and Kathy), and it
shows us some of the scum out there, (J.T., Confederate Rose).

eventually putting the microphone in her face when they went back on the
air. Tom can give the full story. But I don't think Geraldo knew it

Re: POWER
Tom why is it that I have a much harder time hearing KFYI at night? Do
you reduce your wattage? I get the reverse effect from CBS affiliate
KNX 1070 of Los Angeles. I get them clearly in the evening hours. Is
it feasible that your station will be using more power soon? Also, how
about getting Morton Downey on your show some time. I watched him on
Geraldo and a special done on him on West 57th Street. Why don't you
match you and him up against Phyllis Schaphly and Shirley Whitlock of
the Eagle Forum? Talk about a terrific tag-team match. You guys would
eat them up. hehe. Seriously how about bringing him or Howard Stern on
sometime. I've only seen Stern once but I was dying laughing. (I have
never seen someone stoop so low) On Letterman's show he told how he got
kicked off of Fox's Late Show. When asked why, he stated he made some
jokes that Joan Rivers may have bumped Edgar off, and then made it look
like a suicide. His remarks were in such poor taste that I found themm
hilarious. (Then again, if you had Howard Stern on, you might burn up
the tape-delay from overuse!)

Re: (R)WED. SHOW.
John:
When I said that you "don't know me", I thought I made it clear that I
meant that from any air personality, all you get is a little slice of
their lives, but there's a lot you don't get, AND WILL NEVER GET OVER
THE AIR. The other hosts at the station (except for one host, whom I won't
name) want you to believe that we're all buddies and we're on the same
team. The station would like you to believe that too. Nothing could be
further from the truth.
Although I hired all of the hosts you hear on KFYI (with the exception
of Lee Tate, a former caller turned host), all but one of them avoided
calling me to see how things were going or if I was okay during my
hiatus. They were so afraid of losing their jobs or getting in trouble
for talking to me, they chose their jobs over our friendships. Then,
upon my return, they have the gall to imply that we are all still great
friends. We're not. It is in times such as these that you find out who
your friends are. So, you see, there's a lot you don't know, and can't
know, about people who are on the air. My opinions are real. I try to
give you as much as I can.

Re: (R)POWER
KFYI cannot be heard in many areas at night because they are required by
the FCC to change direction of the signal in order to protect stations
in larger markets at 910 on the dial, such as KNEW/San Francisco. At
night AM radio signals (KNX, for example) travel further than during the
day, so many stations reduce power completely, or in certain directions.
I don't think that Downey or Stern would be available for local
interviews, and I don't think that Stern could keep it clean enough to
satisfy the powers that be.

Re: THE STATION
Thanks for clarifying your position regarding the other hosts at KFYI.
What with all the back-patting and praise they have been giving Mr.
Weber, along with the fact that they all seemed to place friendship
second to self-interest, I had my doubts that all these "buddy-pal"
comments regarding you were all bunk. I respect your position in the
matter; anyone who will turn their back on you and suck up to the powers
that be, could never be considered a friend in my book. I've also heard
them refer to themselves recently as one big "family." I've known
"friendships" like that. They're the family, and you're the "black
sheep" that they've cast out or disowned.
I appreciate that you've exposed the announcers for what they really
are. Up until just now, I still had a modicum of respect for one or two
of them. Now I know that I cannot live with myself if I listen, and
thereby support those announcers.
