If you want to hear Iraq's point of view from an Iraqi, you need only have
watched the news programs (ABC,CBS,NBC,CNN,Nightline,PBS...); the Iraqi
ambassador to the United States was given an ENORMOUS amount of airtime,
...far, far more than the Kuwaiti Ambassador had.  There is no media
conspiracy, Rod, in this regard.  If there were, Iraq would not have been
given such a platform from which to make its claims.
 
As for name calling, nothing specific, you just got carried away and
started saying how none of us were real men because our answers didn't suit
you, or something like that.

No, Roger and I were merely quarreling over an academic point...a quodlibet,
as it were.  It would be indeed odd if the models of the universe did not
behave at all like the universe, since that is their entire purpose.  My
point is that it is very important to bear in mind that models are models,
and the universe is the universe, and not to get them confused, as it can
lead to all kinds of problems, particularly when you get into funny little
things like infinitesimals.

They were not so secret.  
The brutality...the sheer monsterousness was, to be sure, a shocking thing
when viewed in person...and no doubt many details were unknown...but there
was not a lot to figure out when Hitler was rounding up jews all over the
place, and given all of his talk of the "final solution..."  I think more
was known than you believe...

It is no secret that, while children do require protection against abuse,
the present bureaucratic organization assigned that task needs some serious
revamping, up to and including abolition.
 I just thank God that my 5 were raised before this spectre of child abuse
became the abuse of parental rights and responsibilities it is today, else I
would surely have spent my years as a parent of minors behind bars, since I
was and still am a firm believer in discipline. I would not want to raise
children today, under the threat of criminal prosecution for anything
resembling a firm hand or a spanking.
 Child Protective Service should be abandoned in favor of a system that
protects the rights of all, including those at whom the finger is pointed
when an undisciplined child runs afoul of the law.

We didn't take that line of history. Perhaps discouraging Hitler would
have delayed WWII until German scientists had invented the atomic bomb.
At that time, Hitler would have felt strong enough to REALLY conquer the
world. Perhaps we were lucky that Hitler started the war sooner rather
than later.

You're Communist scum and you are going to hell.

So how come we can't settle our differences like real men?  We are in an
economic sink-hole at the moment and from what I observe it ain't going to
be getting better any time soon.

I hear the Texas economy is improving due to the current price of oil.  I
would gladly pay more at the pump rather than have a war.  People have been
known to die in wars and the people I am speaking of are just kids.

Why don't you jog down to your local recruiting center and join up?  Tell
them that you believe in war and think that killing may be fun.  This will
get you a spot on the front lines, reserved.  Then you too can eat sand and
be homesick.  Perhaps you'll even get a metal, posthumously.

Of course this new action does not suprise me in the least as I've known for
quite some while that our world is basically insane.  So what else is new?

It's very possible that more was known than I believe but then again I
couldn't say.  I was not privvy to that or any other information nor have I
researched the matter.

I made my guess from the countless documentaries I've watched and from
memory the allies always seemed surprised at finding the death camps.  I was
never classified for top-secret.
