Rod is rather sleepy and after reading your latest posts, He said that you
both will get a more comprehensive answer tomorrow. Bet you can hardly
wait.
Rod doesn't see His posts as NEGATIVE. He hasn't been reading anything much
at all except the Az. Republic. His brain is somewhat 'over-active' and He
likes to think up strange situations of a religous nature to expound upon.
There hasn't been a religious discussion on this board in quite some while
and He (Rod) likes to see if He has evolved in this topic. He knows full
well that the topic He chooses will turn to other matters. He is enjoying
'riling' up the Christians of Apollo during this period.
He really hates when He types in the posts. His face becomes contorted as
Hell and many times one can see smoke pouring from His ears. He keeps a
sawed off shotgun on His lap and at times He just fires it into the ceiling
for no apparent reason.
Well, I am tired too. It's been a long day and sleep will be soon to come.
Even Deities need rest. But you all must know that as it says in the Good
Book, "and He rested on the seventh day." Yawn!

Unlike Mr. Clampett, I have nothing against Texans. People from Kansas,
however, are the scum of the Earth. They're so damn snotty, ever since the
"Wizard of Oz". You'd think they wrote the Holy Bible. So they got a bunch
of dwarfs to dress up in silly suits and inhale helium. Do they have to
plaster Miss Ruby Slippers' face up on every damn billboard and highway
marker, like some sort of silly Greek Orthodox icon?
Yes, I can definately understand where Mr. Clampett is coming from. Kansas
should be turned into a giant forced labor camp. I'd prefer to carpet bomb
it, but we need the wheat, I'm afraid. I also wish that George Bernard
Shaw was alive, so that I could pull out his beard hairs one-by-one. Also,
anyone bearing a superficial resemblance to Oscar Wilde should be flogged.
There. I've spoken my piece, Mr. High-On-His-Tin-Ivory-Tower Carter. How

For your information, my friend, I think that APS and it's parent
corporation is the biggest ripoff that even this state, known for ripping
off the public, has ever seen. Not only are it's rate payers footing the
bill for it's capital investments (Palo Verde being the most obvious), an
unheard of state of affairs, but the suckers are also paying through the
noses for Pinnacle West's bad judgement calls, such as Merabank and one or
two other losers.
Mofford's attempt to further assess APS $44 million, which will probably
never see the light of day, would not affect me, since I live in a SRP area,
and would not put my money into any S&L, let alone Merabank, who seems to
have such a penchant for poorly managing the money placed in their trust.
My sympathy really goes to all the little people who are being so hard
pressed by exorbitant power bills that all they can do is watch their hard
earned money go down the bottomless pit of Pinnacle West policies.
What's the answer Cliff? Darned if I know! I just know that, when I look
for another place to live, one of the first things I ask is who serves up
the power. If it's APS, I forget the next question and leave.

Atheists and agnostics do not refrain from running amok because they don't
believe in the Ten Commandments, Ann. They refrain from running amok for the
same reasons all the rest of us do. There are laws that prohibit such
behaviour, and nobody wants to run afoul of the law. Those laws, at least
most of them, just happen to have their foundations in the original
commandments and laws given to Moses by God. Ask any lawyer. Our modern laws
have been modified, of course, and many of them have been based on situation
ethics, but the foundation is there, nevertheless.
As to the Inquisition , Crusades, (the reformation wasn't bloody), or the
situation in Ireland, don't blame "Christianity". Those events were people
problems, not Christian problems. Christianity is God's way of reaching out
to the world in love. Many people down through the years have, as people
will, twisted and warped the Christian message for their own purposes, for
personal gain or whatever reason. Try to look past the people and to the God
of the message, and you will get quite a different perspective.

I have read about them and I think your discription was a little harsh. My
point was - Christianity made them worse, not better. All uncililized
cultures were brutal to a certain extent and murdered one another - but take
a look at our Christian nation. I would say we are 85% Christian - but our
jails are full - crime is on the rampage - religion has become a business
etc. etc. etc.
When the missionaries went to Tahiti - it was a paradice of happy people. If
there was brutality and murder, it was rare. What in the heck did the
Commandments do for them except to put the fear of God in them? They didn't
think nakedness was a sin until we told them so. They had their gods, why
didn't we leave them alone? -=*) ANN (*=-

I was not talking about obeying the laws - was talking about everyday living
with our fellow man. I.E. treating people fairly when you are in a business
- not passing around nasty gossip about someone - helping on old lady cross
the street - doing things for others without rewards - forgetting and
forgiving etc. - those kind of things that have nothing to do with being a
Christian or a religion.
Re: the Inquisition, Crusades and the Reformation (yes it was bloody! Where
did you get the idea it wasn't?) and Ireland - why arn't the Christians
blamed for those events? Who else to blame? I said it before and I'll say it
again "more people have died over the centuries in the name of God than for
anything else, including all our great wars!" This also includes other
countries with other gods - Mohammed, Buddah, Allah etc. I don't know about
those other religions, but Christians should have known better. Right? Don't
they have the Commandents as their guide - the Bible? The latter is bloodly
itself. Not blame the Christians? Who the heck do you blame? The Atheists?

Rod, I can understand why some would think there is "hate" in your messages.
After getting to know you better I know you don't hate Christians, but there
was a time I thought you did. It was because of your harsh words. ie.
Die hard religionists still keep the
faith until their body and brain die.
When you say things like that, some take offense and think you hate them.
And we know that you have said a lot worse.

Re: "they wear white sheets at night, make their black brothers ride in the

Christians don't do those things either. It certainly isn't in the Bible.
On the contrary, the Bible says to love your neighbor as yourself. From
what I read in the newspaper, I would say there are a lot of people who
claim to be Christians yet they lie, hate, and murder. But if you are
familiar with what the bible teaches, you know that people who lie, hate,
and murder cannot be following Jesus' example.
You seem to make a point of singling out weirdos who claim they do their
thing in the name of Christ and then using them as an example of how wrong
and bad Christians are. That's distortion.

Re: "I would say we are 85% Christian"
I would say the number is a lot lower than that. I know a lot of people
claim to be a Christian, sort of like:
Hey! Are you a Christian? Sure I'm a Christian; I was born in America
wasn't I?
I think a lot of self proclaimed Christians don't even know the meaning of
the word. They don't read the Bible; they don't follow it's guidlines, and
if they pray, it's usually to ask for a new car or something like that. I
would say the number of Christians in the US of A is more on the order of 20
percent.

I have the past two and a half years of Apollo on my current system disks.
Each disk holds 716K and I have quite a few that are full. On my previous
C-64 system I have about a year, year and a half on disk.
Of course I do not have anything from the FEMale SIG but I do have quite a
lot from CHRISTIANS OF APOLLO SIG. Interesting SIG there.
When a person, any person carries around hate it consumes them and acts as a
negative influence. This saps strength. The opposite is true of love as
you should know. I have a lot of love in me. But on the other hand I like

Note to Bob Thornburg... Nice posts with Quotes taken from other
posts.. Great touch...but Look at your post 60820 for example. You could
fix those first 3 lines with a very simple cmd while in the editor (when
entering the message before saving) The cmd I talk about is the ill cmd.
It will take sever partial lines and make them into full lines. Just for
laughs, why don't you do a cmd (Update In Place) and then use the
cmd and when it askes what lines, answer with a 1-3 (Meaning lines one
to three).
This post was for you others that do not know this long standing cmd
in the editor.. It Fills in the lines or brings scattered text together.
CMDs like
this can
work very well
when one hits a return
key
to soon. I will do this below EXACTLY like I have done it on the last
seven lines. But I will use the ill cmd on them.
