I don't think the FBI was doing a "marital relationship" investigation.
King's infidelity just happened to be exposed during an investigation. I'm
not winking at anything. And I didn't say I don't like King.
Maybe I'm replying to the wrong post.

The SYSOP has every right, of course, to run the BBS to his own tastes.
It is also true, unfortunately, that posting under a consistent name allows
people to pidgeon-hole you -- which is the real reason for the frustration
of those who have complained about the use of false names. Why should it be
important to "know who you are talking to"? Unless, of course, you want a
convenient way to label and/or dismiss that person. Even the consistent use
of a single pseudonym restricts in the same manner. People always look for
pattern and consistency, even where there is none, and rather than accept
inconsistency and deal with the uneasiness they feel as a consequence, they
would impose pattern and consistency. Once you have been identified with a
particular viewpoint, style, or attitude in a previous post -- even if
viewpoints, styles, and attitudes are often transient -- everything you say
henceforth is interpreted in the light of their mental model. Depending on
the flexibility of the mind doing the interpreting, the model may be
modified to one degree or another, but it still exists, and more often than
not, it remains an innacurate and limited representation.
I also fail to understand why I should be expected to receive unwanted
personal communications. Public messages require public responses -- and I
don't care if some humorless idiot from Pennsylvania or Texas or Kansas
thinks I'm seriously bashing his home state. If I want a private reply I'll
request one, or use the post office to begin with, a medium which requires
a private reply. Personally, I think this sucks...and I'm leaving.

Okay gang.... he is GONE! You got what you asked for... right?
Regardless of what Kadow said, it is difficult to carry on a conversation
when you don't know if you are talking to one or twenty people. It also
shows he is ashamed of what he posts and now, he is angry at us for posting
how WE feel about his multiple pseudonyms.... ref; "This sucks".
Those of you who have sent this 'person' mail under one of his
momentary names.... will you please delete it so I won't have to try and
hunt them down. Thank You in advance.

In essence, this means he doesn't want to be held accountable for what

All Phoenicians, time to wake up! Election day is just around the corner,
and the special interest groups that would have us dig deeper into our
pockets to line theirs are hoping for the usual apathy from the voting
public. Time to prove them wrong! At issue is the question that asks should
at least $100 million dollars be extracted from the public pocket (that's
yours and mine, folks) to build a monument to private enterprise, from which
only a select few would benefit? Assuming that a baseball team yet to be
formed would have enough drawing power to convince enough fans to suffer 115
degree summer heat to sit in the stands and watch them drop like flies
trying to get around the bases, the only ones who would prosper would be the
owner of the franchise, a few concessionaires and some downtown hotel and
restaurant owners. This is not the job providing pie in the sky answer to
Phoenix's ailing economy that Terrible Terry and his gang of thieves would
have you believe! A resounding NO!! vote is called for on prop. 1! Also at
issue is what our "beloved" mayor and council are really worth. There is a
proposition that calls for an "adjustment" to their salaries that would
bring them in line with the county supervisors. It doesn't spell it ot, but
this DOUBLES their salary! Judging from their recent public be damned
attitudes lately, a 50% cut would seem more appropriate! Also, a resounding
YES! vote on prop. 200 should send the message to the gang at city hall that
we, the people, have had enough of their blowing our money on such amenities
as amphitheaters, sporting events, stadiums, etc. It will at least give us a
voice in future sojourns into our pockets!
VOTE on Tuesday, Oct.3! It's the only voice you have!

Which ones?
Please give us references of where you read that or the name of the person
who told you personally. Or is it the same stuff B.Dog is overflowing with?
His own version of that facts to suit him and gratify his ignorance?
If there is someone in any church preaching that it is a prerequesite
to be baptized (otherwise you go straight to hell) then they themselves
are not preaching from the Bible. It isn't there. Baptism is covered,
baptism is a show of faith and was instituted by men..not God.
It's obvious from the last series of posts that regardless of
facts or what the truth is, people will change it to their own
ends to satisfy something in them that wants to trash religion. In short,
its the same as spreading lies about someone you hate.
My question has always been, why do you hate religion? Because you hear
hateful lies spread by others like B.Dog ?
Hmm. Seems self propgating to me.

So, tell me, just what else happens to fetuses that weren't baptized in the
womb? The only way to go to heaven, according to many of you, involves not
only being baptized as a kid but also having a second 'birth' which involves
accepting Jesus as one's personal Savior.
So, fetuses go to hell. Q.E.D.

Interesting free will discussion a few days back--I entered a few posts on
the subject in response to some of Mike Carter's messages, only to find that
Carter's interlocutor had already said pretty much the same thing.
I don't think that the free will defense against the problem of evil
works, though Alvin Plantinga's _God, Freedom, and Evil_ is better than
most. I also don't think that any workable definition of free will is
incompatible with determinism or with God creating only morally perfect
people.

I found an old medical leaflet the other day and thought I would share it
with you.
Dear Doctor:
We are pleased to enclose this fine reproduction of The Seal of
Persepolis you recently requested.
Dating back to early Achaemenid Period (circa 522-424 B.C.), the seal
depicts a mythological king vanquishing two powerful ibexes, symbols of
demonic spirits. A winged sun disk, representing the supreme Persian
deity, Ahuramazda, hovers over the king's head. The message is clear: the
victor has conquered his adversaries. The gods are victorious over the
demons.
The ancient people who occupied Mesopotamia and spread their culture
into Syria and Persia wore seals like this as amulets against the demons,
who were believed to bring pain, disease or other catastrophes.
Today, the magic of amulets still exists in primitive cultures. But
modern science has, of course, replaced these amulets against pain.
Consider TYLOX (r) (oxycodene) and acetaminophen), a potent oral analgesic
for moderate to moderately severe pain.
We hope you will find this ancient replica a handsome addition to
your decorative pieces.
NOTE: I find this message interesting in that much of today's culture is
still based upon such stuff. For example, some people will not leave their
house without first reading their horoscope. Some wear crosses around their
neck or keep statues on their dashboard or at their home. How many crosses
are there in America? And how many people feel that these 'amulets' will
keep them from harm? By the way, the medicine described is of the morphine
type.
