I will attempt to explain why I think it's a good explanation ..... it
doesn't go along with the Bible re: Adam & Eve and that God created the
universe in 6 days and that the earth is only 8,000 or so years old. I just
don't believe that. It says we did inhabit the animals for awhile (cavemen)
- it explains myths & legends. The beginning of it describes God - which is
matter, energy as we all are. I always believed that mankind was a part of
God and 'would' like to think we will go back to Him. Just a personal
opinion. But most of all - it puts the responsibility on the indivivual -
not God or Satan. You know - 'The Devil made me do it' junk! Or that God
made you a cripple to teach you something. We make our own beds and pay the
conquences. Anyway - in my opinion, this could be an explaination of
something un-explainable. Ha! Hell, we don't even understand what the
universe is - what makes the rain, flowers grow, death, birth. Sure, through
science they tell us what it means - but not really because there is so many
unanswered questions. To me those 12 posts 'could' be the answer - at least
some of them. Just something to think about. -=*) ANN (*=-

One thing I know which Milton never knew:
When Satan fell, hurled headlong to the shade
Of Hell eternal out of Heaven's blue,
I know the screaming wail his pinions made.
Actually, God doesn't miss Satan: it's just that Satan always let Him cheat
at Parcheesi.

..."Ahmed, though Moslem, was a great hit with Antoine's family. He brought
them up to date on Beirut politics and then told Syrian checkpoint stories.
Syrian checkpoint stories are the Polish jokes of Lebanon.
A Syrian soldier stops a Volkswagon Beetle and demands that the driver open
the trunk. The driver begins to open the luggage compartment at the front
of the car. "No!" says the Syrian, "I said the TRUNK."
"This is the trunk," says the driver.
"I am not a donkey," says the Syrian, pointing to the back of the car.
"Open the trunk!" So the driver does as he's told, exposing the VW's
engine. "Aha!" says the Syrian, "You have stolen a motor. Furthermore, you
have just done it because it's still running." "
From "Holidays In Hell". I think, Rod, that you would find the chapter on
Heritage U.S.A. particularly amusing.

"Chill out", in my admittedly limited understanding of the nomenclature of
today's generation, means the same as "cool it" or "calm down" meant in the
ancient days of yore, when I was younger. If it has any other hidden,
sinister meaning, I am not aware of it, and have probably misused the term.
If so, I apologize for my lack of understanding. I believe it is called
ignorance, a maladay that affects all of us in one area or another.
As to my past comments concerning your voice. Your voice does not offend me
Cliff. What I find so bothersome is the fact that each and every time we
have a disagreement over anything at all, you repeatedly throw back at me
everything I have ever said to you that has a negative connotation, if it
applies to the discussion at hand or not. We could be in disagreement on
which side of our toast to butter, and you would throw in my face every
remark I have ever made concerning my priorities, my feelings concerning
homosexuals, my past (and since forgotten) remarks concerning your voice,
GTs that I have not attended, my religious preferences, my comments on
Scriptural references, and anything else you have been harboring in your
memory bank for years.
So, if it pleases you any more, PLEASE!!! cool it, calm down, let not the
sun go down on your wrath (OOPS!Sorry about that. It came from the Bible!),
but, if it has a meaning I know not of, Please DON'T chill out! OK?

You are essentially correct. Lucifer was once one of God's highest angels,
(although God doesn't play favorites, since the Bible also says that He is
not a respecter of persons), but Lucifer did have a high position in the
heirarchy of angels. His fall was caused by his pride, and his statement
that he would elevate himself to a position equal with the most high God's.
As to the last statement, that God misses Satan, I don't know where you
read that, but I doubt it, since God is quite self-sufficient, and old
slewfoot has given Him a bit more than a minor amount of trouble over the
years. I think that God misses him about as much as you or I would miss an
ingrown toenail.

If you are so ashamed of your PAST posts and remarks... Why do you
say them? If you make your bed, don't you lay in it? How long ago was it
that you heard me speak? Yet it was only a few weeks ago that you attacked
me on my voice.... Why can you reference the past, and not I?
I am not UPSET or MAD, so please quit telling me to "Calm Down".
I am not harboring (gee, you put yourself on a pedestal) any ill thoughts
about you in my memory bank. However, being a user of this system as long
as I have been, there are things that I am going to remember... you are such

People have all sorts of belief systems in order to maintain their
so-called sanity. Organized religions offer their standard doctrine
and the majority go with one of them as there is safety in numbers.
One can always find comfort with the most popular of the belief
systems. I would venture to say that the prime reason a person turns
to one of the popular systems is from fear of the unknown. Everyone
wants to know. Many people are born into a belief system and accept
it, remaining in it all their lives. It is what they are taught.
This is why people who are born in Asia have different belief systems
than those born in the Americas. Neither system may be true but that
is not the point. The question is: Will I feel safe with this system?
Of course the safest system is the one that has the most people you
know as believers.
A person who understands that it is impossible to know one way or
another has my respect.
This is the prime difference between a thinker and a follower. The
person now who professes one of our popular western theories to be
true is the same person who, if born in an eastern culture, would
profess that system of beliefs to be the true.

Fear of the unknown brings people together. Just be wary of the ones
who want a second mortgage on your home. They are far to greedy.
For safety, stick with the ten-percenters for they will not clean you
out as fast and in return you can enjoy the community outings and
occasional bake sales. -Rod

Subject: Me, dead?
Date: 09/01/89 Time: 21:43:08
Actually, THE Edgar Cayce is dead. My name, however, is merely a fortuitous
coincedence (or a whimsical alias, whichever comes first). I was quite
serious, however, in the text of my message.
Without going into detail, let me give you an analogy. Imagine watching
television in an area with constant magnetic storms (and consequently poor
reception). Visually, the "screen" is usually filled with shadowy,
indistinguishable forms. Audially, the "speakers" alternate between static,
or white-noise, and a horrendous cacophany which, if it could be described
at all, sounds like a few hundred thousand hawks screaming at you in Farsi.
If one is patient, there are occasional lulls in the pandemoneum, where
sometimes the images, or the sound (or rarely, both) become clear and
intelligible. By a process which I am not prepared to delineate, it is
possible to send information and make queries. I know this, because
occasionally, there is a demonstratable exchange of information.
I have not yet experienced any, shall we say, unwholesome attentions. There
was, however, a period lasting approximately two weeks, wherein a sort of
"sneezing" sound followed me around wherever I went. Well, actually,
"sneezing" is a kind description. It was a rather rude sound, and first
manifested itself in a movie theatre. I was acutely embarrassed, and tended
to avoid people until it finally went away. It seemed to be a more or less
mechanical phenomenon, rather than what some might describe as a
"visitation".
