Your bird understands that possession is 9/10th of the law.

Come to think of it, my dog seems to think that certain parts of the yard
belong to him. He's always "marking" his territory with a very acidic
liquid.

He also buries his bones.

You're not beginning to frustrate me, because I know you're a dingbat and
I've grown to expect incoherent nonsense from you.

Look, try to think. (I know this is a tall order.) Look at it this way:
I'm starting a business and have a limited amount of capital. I can't
afford to pay the landlord what his property is worth, so we make a trade:
he gives me a break on the rent to start with, with the understanding that
the rent will go up with my profits. If I am successful, it is in part
because he helped me get started, so it is hardly unreasonable for him to
expect to be repaid.

If I need $2,000 to start a business and I only have $1,000 in capital, and
you invest another $1,000, it is certainly reasonable for you to expect a
return on your investment -- half the profits. The situation here is
identical -- the landlord is making an investment in a business. The only
difference is that the landlord does not own the property, but is merely
entitled to a percentage of the profits for the duration of the lease.

What do all of you loyal Arizona tax payers think about Mr. Corbins
'SELECTIVE' Prosecutions(sp)??????

What about this new one where the Tempe city council or someone in the city
government traded some Cardinal's season tickets for good parking spaces at
the office? Good one 'eh?

Mr. Corbin says, "Yes, it was against the law... BUT ... it wasn't done
intentionally..." SHIT! Give me a break!
Did the guy who parked in front of the fire hydrant do it on purpose, maybe,
maybe not, maybe he was in a hurry and didn't HONESTLYseeit.. BUT, I'll bet
he has to pay the damn ticket!!! No matter what he says!

This Mr. Corbin is a real A$$HOLE, and I personally feel we should have
dumped his butt before we dumped Mecham...

What about this $80,000 dollar campaign fund that Corbin says the state
owns... This sounds like BULLSHIT to me.... If Mecham can has legitimate
reciept from ALL the people that contributed, he oughta give 'em thier money
back.... I don't recall Corbin saying, 'Yes, it was illegal, but it
wasn't done intentionally..."!!!!! They still can't prove if he did it
intentionally!

Your last post reminded me of an old ooooold ethnic joke. It seems that
three Chinese named Ching, Bing, and Fing were emmigrating to the US around
the turn of the century. They got off the boat at San Francisco, and were
lined up at the immigration desk to get their entry papers.

The agent was one of those intolerant officials that no longer work for the
government now that our new Democratic, liberal, policies are in effect. He
didn't want to let the three into the country unless they anglicized their
names.

Anyway, Ching changed his name to Chuck, Bing changed his name to buck, and
Fing went back to China.

Date: 09/08/88 Time: 07:59:45

Sure, suing in some cases will correct pollution. But in others, it
won't. Part of the problem is that pollution often doesn't manifest itself
for decades. The company that did the polluting may have gone out of
business years ago. Futhermore, a suit may get you a nice wad of cash, but
if your well is contaminated with PCB, it's contaminated with PCB. Period.
No settlement is going to get your water back. That is the one weakness of
the tort system: it cannot handle irreversable damages. You can get all
the cash in the world, but the injury can never be undone.
Another problem is the corporate shield. Corporate officers in many
cases have no goals beyond the next few quarters. Even if the company does
lose a suit, they'll still have their Mercedes Benzes. I would prefer a
system that gave more direct punishment to corporate officers involved in
such things.
I am presuming that a libertarian system would keep criminal punishment
for contempt of court. Otherwise, you could just ignore a judgement against
you, and refuse to pay it.

We will not be taking your offer of $40.00 Paul... We raised the
price back up to what Sandy originaly wanted since we do not need it for a

Tiny one like most models under the 100.00 range.
We will not be sending it to auction, but insread have it on top of
my other Micro Wave and are now using both... Neet when cooking multiple
items....and fast! for under $60.00, we will keep the darn thing!
$60.00 is FIRM! (unless we go up on it)
