If you're interested in more information on humane farming, contact the
Humane Farming Association. The are based in San Francisco, and are running
a full-page ad in this month's OMNI magazine.

I just can't agree with the idea that all sexual preference is learned.
There is sound scientific research showing that many behavioral tendencies
are genetically influenced. I am not suggesting that this sort of
orientation is normal, but that it is likely that a certain percentage of
gays are the result of a mutation or damage to their DNA.

I have known several homosexuals who have repented of their lifestyle, and
who have changed and gone on to live happy and successful heterosexual
lives, even to the point of getting married and having children.
The high suicide rate among homosexuals more indicative of the big lie that
is being perpetuated by referring to queers as "gay", which is probably the
most abused and misused word in the English language when placed in that
context.
There is nothing gay about being queer.

I'll have to ask the guy where he got it. (he is our spokesperson) I don't
know if it's sold on the stands - probably through subscriptions. It
certainly can't have too big of a circulation because cockfighting is legal
in only 4 states! Some states are 'iffy' re: their laws and turn their backs
on such things
I forgot to mention one thing I heard at the meeting - they use cats a lot
for testing new products like cosmetics and soaps. The standard procedure is
to put some sort of special tape on a cat's side - about 2" wide and 4" long
- pull it off to expose the second layer or skin so they can apply these new
products there. (No pain killers when this is done - it cost money!) Now I
ask why, if they are going to use cats, they can't just shave the skin and
apply the product to the first layer of skin? They do this procedure to find
out the sensitivity to skin. How can that tell them a thing when human skin
is entirely different? A cat's skin is also totally different from a dogs
too. =+=ANN=+=

Was that your letter I saw this morning in the Republic in the letter to the
editor section Re: animal experimentation? It was signed Mark Adkins? If so,
it was excellent. Soon, I plan to send a letter in on cockfighting and start
to make the people aware that it's going on legally. =+=ANN=+=

It would appear (over the long run) that homosexuality would be an
acquired trait rather than an inherited trait. After all, just how
many genes would a practicing homosexual contribute to the human
gene pool?

In California you hear very little from the homosexual rights groups
concerning this argument. Most that I have a speaking acquaintance
with think of it as sexual choice. They feel that they received
"sexual orientation" or "polarization" at an early age. Usually as
a result of broken homes, bad family experiences, and lack of role
models as children.

My opinion: I feel that it's choice, not heredity. I also refuse to
justify what I see as a perversion of their basic humanity by calling
queers gay. tHAT word has now been ruined, just like the word fairy.

See Y'aa..........

It can perhaps be likened to alcoholism -- some people develop an addiction to alcohol, some don't. But nobody is compelled to drink. On the subject of AIDS, Savage is getting a bit carried away. AIDS is not a serious threat to the majority of the population; it remains primarly a disease of homoexuals and intravenous drug users, and there is no evidence that this is likely to change. Message: 54821 Author: Apro Poet Category: Politics Subject: Censorship Date: 10/21/88 Time: 18:38:18 From USA Today, Oct. 20, 1988: School officials use censorship ruling Censorship is still hot news in high school newsrooms - nine months after the Supreme Court gave administrators power over student publications. "The decision has caused students and advisors to pull back, to not cover sensitive issues," says Mark Goodman of the Washington-based Student Press Law Center. Hazelwood East (Mo.) High School Principal Robert Reynolds, who started the case, told Associated Press managing editors in Boston Wednesday that school officials should oversee student publications. "We haven't been licensed to censor," Reynolds said. "I tell my teachers: Don't interfere any more than you would in a physics class." He killed two stories about teen pregnancy and divorce because they were "careless reporting not atypical of adolescent journalists when left unsupervised by a competent journalism teacher." The Hazelwood decision has emboldened school administrators, press advocates say: - At toledo (Ohio) Woodward High, an assistant principal reviews controversial stories in *The Tattler*. "We consider the newspaper a part of our curriculum and we want to have control," Principal Rebecca Johnson says. - At Broomfield (Colo.) High School, Principal James Sandoval vetoed a story and cartoon critical of study hall. "I'm in school to learn," says *Eagle's Cry* editor Art Kirkpatrick, "I've learned how to deal with dictatorship." - At Wayland (Mich.) High, the *Paw Prints* adviser is fighting a plan by Superintendent Robert Brenner to keep stories critical of local businesses out of the newspaper. "We can't pick out a segment of the community and say we're not going to write about them," adviser Jeff Salisbury says. Counters Brenner: "We're not going to have a student paper, either rightly or wrongly, attack individuals or businesses in the community."
