It does have the Fuel injection which really does a nice job up in the
areas arouind Flagstaff. The rear end is a 3.43:1 I believe..or something
very near that. Massive amounts of torque.
It has 11,872 miles on it and already I'm looking for new tires since I've
been a little heavy on some start-offs.
I'd love to put in a turbo-charger someday, but that would probably lend
toward more racing than I should.
For now, I just love to see the grim expression on the guy behind me in
his rat-son-of-a-bitch-japanese-$#!+-box he just bought and thinks is the
fastest truck on wheels. HAR HAR.

Second gear really pulls some G's.

I'm neither paranoid or afraid for the future generation.

I'm quite capable of defending my turf and I'm sure my kids will grow
and adapt to the situation at hand as I have. In your non-time world,
things don't change and cannot. Things do change and will and this is
why you fail to grasp the fundemental capability in each child to
adapt to his or her own environment.
My parent's said that "Things will never be the same again..."
How true..for what they gew up with will never be again.
In the outlook we have of the future, your pessimistic views can only
pollute the minds of the children you have fathered into thinking and
eventually firmly believing that "There is no hope for the world.."
Only the children who are brought up to beleive and do their best can
succeed.
"We will only lose the flesh " etc, this shows me that you place a very low
value on human life. In retrospect to what you have blathered about before,
this makes absolutely no intelligible sense whatsoever.
I suppose if a guy held a shotgun to your head in front of your kids and
asked "Who's first" your reply would be "ME! DO IT NOW!"
Right.

Subject: Chomsky
Date: 10/13/88 Time: 17:43:39

With the uncompromising clarity he employs in his blistering
attacks on the abuses of American power, it's no surprise
that his views are seldom heard in the mainstream media.
It's small publishing houses and small magazines that spread
his words to a small but dedicated audience. Yet even this
marginality hasn't spared Chomsky the distraction of finding
himself in the center of controversy. The man has a lot of
enemies. His detractors range from those who think he is
part of a communist plot to more subtle critics who call his
works "clip jobs" - pastiches of press reports knitted
together with secondary historical sources and a bias a mile
wide. More gentle critics suggest that he overemphasizes
America's global role - a mistake they say only an American
could make.
Though Chomsky is often dismissed as a communist, he says
he's actually been an anarchist for as long as he can
remember, an inheritance from his upbringing in an extended
Jewish working-class family enmeshed in the rich political
culture of the '30s and '40s in Philadelphia.
"Ever since I was old enough to think for myself, I've
been a kind of anarchist or libertarian socialist. I'm not
much of a Marxist.
In answering queries about what keeps him going in the
face of scant public attention and sometimes vehement
criticism, he says, "You have to be a bit of a fanatic doing
this. But I keep going because there is such a demand for
my speaking and writing, usually in off-beat places. I
spend hours a week just typing out apologies for having to
reject invitations and I'm usually scheduled two years in
advance. So that keeps the juices flowing.
"There's a lot of people who want to hear something
different. As soon as you get away from the elite faculty
clubs and the corporate headquarters and the editorial
boards, the mainstream, then the general population is really
starved for alternatives."

Note that the Revised Standard Version replaces "male prostitutes" and
"homosexual offenders" with "sexual perverts".
The proviso you add regarding "backsliding" ("provided they commit no
homosexual acts once turning their lives to God") seems to imply that
Christians may not sin unless they want to be condemned to hell. That is
contrary to what many Christians believe.

Believe it or not, I just typed an answer and then old fat fingers hit the A
instead of the S at the prompt and aborted the whole thing! I'll try again.
My statement that there is no such thing as a queer Christian is still
valid, since, there being always room in God's mercy and judgement for
repentance, there is always forgiveness. Of course, in order to receive
forgiveness for this sin, as with any other, there must be repentance.
Repentance, in the context of Scripture, means much more than saying I'm
sorry. It entails a total refutation, or turning from the old sinful ways.
THerefore, if a homosexual truly repents, and turns from his sinful ways to
Christ as Lord, the Scripture applies that says "old things are passed away;
behold ALL THINGS become new", and he is no longer a homosexual. While there
undoubtedly are many former homosexuals who have turned to Christ as Saviour
and Lord, they have had to renounce their former ways. Therefore, my
statement still stands. There is no such thing as a queer Christian.
Hope that clarifies my point.

After the GT at Bob's, it is true that I spoke to Cliff, and during the
course of conversation, Roc Williams came up, as he does in many of Cliff's
conversations. (Cliff, by the way, has probably insulted Rod much more than
anyone else on this BBS.)
During that conversation, I did mention that, when I stopped by Rod's seat
to shake his hand, he offered me his left hande with the remark that "this
is the way Satan shakes hands". I did mention this to Cliff as being rather
objectionable. My wife, as would most women who place a certain value on
appearance, was bothered by the appearance of a man who at least looked as
though he hadn't cleaned himself up since the 1960s. None of this has much
to do with my opinions of Rod, with whom I am still able to carry on a
reasonable conversation, even though we disagree on many things.
Cliff's remark re: Todd Reese is an outright lie. Matter of fact, the last
time I was in Gemini, Todd was there, and we spoke quite civilly to each
other, as we always have in our personal meetings in the past. I think Todd
will attest to that as well. We do indeed have some very wide differences of
religious thought and opinions, and have made no secret of them on Apollo
and elsewhere. That in no way means that we cannot face each other with
mutual respect. This I have never failed to do, nor has Todd. Moreover, I
have never refused to appear anywhere because of either Rod or Todd, nor
would I so limit myself in the future.
The rest of Cliff's last rambling, ranting and raving is simply not worthy
of a response, so I will ignore it. I'm not "failing to respond" I'm
refusing to engage in further circular argument.

I can't understand why you were offended by Rod at the Bob's GT because of a
handshake? You certainly knew what Rod was like before the GT, so that
couldn't have surprised you at all. Why could you not have went along with
the fun, because that's all it was! What else did you expect after all the
posts that were being put on the board at that time? Did you expect him to
shake your hand and suddenly fall to his knees in forgiveness and
repentence and become born again? As far as your wife being offended at his
appearence - I find that very two faced and distasteful - very UN-CHRISTIAN!
She made no effort with any of us that I could see. How could she judge Rod
from that distance? If she judged Rod that way - then she must have judged
others - was she offended that Nick is Italian or that James Hawley had a
beard? How about Jim and Beau not being Christians? - that JT wore glasses?
I wore a lot of makeup, fake fingernails and dyed blond hair - did she think
I looked like a prostitute? I thought that was a fun GT - not a condemning
one! Did she over look the fact that Rod was pretty much the life of the
party and we got many laughs that evening because he was there with his
friendly nature and sense of humor? Why doesn't your wife quit living in the
past when people were judged by their appearence. Why didn't she go over to
Rod and get aquainted with him instead of sitting there in rightious
judgement? I don't recall her talking to anyone all evening. This is some of
the stuff I do not understand about 'so called Christian'! You sound like
you really lowered yourself to go shake his hand. What's the problem?

sneaking suspicion that the press media is choosing who we will vote for?
They are rude and overbearing to say the least. They try to get the

The City of Tucson has been bitten by the Laffer curve. The Laffer curve
indicates that if taxes are raised above a certain point, revenue will
decrease.
Tucson raised the fee for defensive driving school (that you can take
when you get a traffic ticket to avoid points) by 80% (from $50 to $90) in
hopes of raising revenue. In fact, it had the opposite effect. Enrollment
in the classes has dropped by over 50%. Last September, revenue generated
by the classes was over $60,000. This month, it's just barely over $40,000.

Gee, all I did was shake left handed with Paul. After all, it was,
"Be Kind to Left Handed People Week".

Zak, you're too good. See you in hell.

        All Libertarians are fags.

I came by bicycle to the GT, I was just getting over the flu and the
reason I was late was because I was doing a major drug deal that took longer
than I thought.
By the way, I have Apollo buffered for the last two years. Anyone
wanna come over and see my files?

I know many women who do put a value on apperarances.
I do to, in a way. I feel threatened when I am around a woman who is
flawlessly dressed up. I can hear their thoughts as they look at me.
I feel comfortable around women whose style of dress is closer
to mine.
Paul's wife is entitled to her initial opinion of Rod.
Sometimes, when I get to know a 'flawlessly dressed up' woman, I am
at ease because I know her and I know how she thinks of me (nice of course).
We become friends. First appearances do mean something and Rod's portrayal
of a first appearance does have something to be desired of.

Rod, if you would have worn a suit and shook hands with your foot,
you would have left a much better first impression.

Why should DeConcini debate? He just debated with DeGreen last week.

DeGreen is a border-line Republican (not even the Republican party and
supporters are giving him much support) and the Libertarian and New Alliance
candidates belong to fringe parties that have no power. DeConcini would be
crazy to debate with these people. Or are you suggesting that he debate
every person that belongs to a fringe party?

I am not a supporter of DeConcini, but as long as DeGreen is the best that
the Republican party can put up against him, Arizona is better off with a
wishy-washy Democrat.

Probably the only people watching the debate tonight are the members of
the Liberal party, New Alliance party and DeGreen's followers....all 1,207
of them total.

Cliff,

While I'm not as radical/fundamentalist Christian as Paul is, I would not
shake hands with anyone that wanted to shake hands the way that Satan shakes
hands....whether in jest or not. Just as I wouldn't intentionally offer a
ham sandwich to a person of the Jewish faith. There is such a thing as
common courteousy....which Rod neglects to practice much of the time.

As far as Rod's appearance....while I wasn't bother by Rod the few times
that I've seen him, I know that my wife would be.

Ann,

Now you're being rediculous. Of course Paul wouldn't expect Rod to do
what you suggest......and he never even hinted that he would expect it. All
he expected out of Rod was common courteousy. Not everyone has Rods unique
sense of humor Someone might fart in your face and think that was funny, but
you might not think it was funny.

I would not care for the handshake either, but it would not keep me
from a GT. Rod could use some lessons in common courteousy, but it was not
the issue of my posts. Paul thinks he is a FLAWLESS Christian...and that is
a joke. I do not claim to be flawless and I am sure some users will delight
at pointing them all out to me. After reading Pauls posts about my post,
one would think all my messages were Vulgar...and that irked me!
To answer one of Paul's questions... I have many disks with old
posts on them.. Since I have access to some large storage media, I may get
them assembled and cataloged. This BBS has a 20 Meg hardrive, and did you
know that with all the SIGs and all the downloads and everything else I have
on this drive, I have more then 10 meg left.... I am sure a Paul Savage
as well as others, may enjoy a trip into the past.

And, to make things clear.... I am not MAD, or as Zak put it,
"Pissed" at anyone.... I may get excited and momentarily irked, but it
passes fast.... How else would I have lasted so many years.... In fact even
Paul has been around many years as a BBS user. (that was for you newer
users)

It would be fun to give everyone weapons of destruction.
The only thing we have to lose is our ammo. It would be a noble experiment
to watch everyone shoot at everyone else.
