Yeah I know what you mean...  My sister just bought an 85 chevy half ton
with that 4.3L Vortec V-6, Turbo 400 (factory in a half ton!) and a 3.42:1
gear ration, WE ARE TALKING SMOKE GOING INTO *AND* AFTER 2ND GEAR!!  That
V-6 with a standard 4bbl Rochester is one SCREAMIN' Machine!!!!  You
probably have Fuel Injection right?  If you do, how do you like it?  I'll
stand by 'MY' GMC anyday also.  I have an 18,000 GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight)
tansmission cooler on P/U, possability of tranny damage due to heat is 0%!

I owned an '84 Blazer with the 2.8 V6. Courtesy Chevrolet had the pleasure
of removing the engine twice. They replaced a total of two rear main seals,
one crankshaft, and two head gaskets during the warranty period.

        No, Nick's car is nice.  He has an add on steering wheel in black
leather and he replaced the automatic transmission with a four speed and a
Hurst Shifter.  It is really nice but you have to keep the windows down
because of the hole around the shifter.  It goes fast.

I believe a proposal of disarmament of a large part of the nuclear arsenal
is plausible.  Continued proliferation of nuclear weapons by the superpowers
serves no useful purpose, and verification of reductions of certain types of
weapons (such as fixed ICBMs) is possible.

      Is it better to have lived and died for something than just
lived and died for an ordinary lifestyle?  Face it, our death day is
here now.  Even if each of us lived to be 150, that is essentially
nothing in eternity.  It will come as if it is later today so why not
make use of a life instead of hiding in the shadows?  

      Wouldn't it be better to have died for the cause of peace than
to die with the thoughts of prejudice and war in your mind?  History
never remembers the mundane people, only the givers.  John Lennon will
be remembered for thousands of years while Lee Harvey Oswald will
leave a bad taste in the throats of people everywhere.

      There are tombstones everywhere of ordinary people who led their
safe, ordinary lives.  Many more are added each and every day.  If you
could visualize the rising sun sweeping across the earth, you could
perceive holes being dug in the ground for yet another ordinary
corpse.  Ours will be one of them, sooner than we think.

      If we gave up our weapons of destruction for the cause of world
peace and if we failed now in our endeavor and were killed because of
it, our death would take on a meaning, a real meaning and we would be
remembered in history and we would be planting a seed for future
mankind.  Remember, all we have to lose is our flesh and baby, that's
gone anyway.  Either way we all must become maggot fodder....be brave.

So, you think that piece of junk is going to beat me? While you're
jerry-rigging mid '60s technology (I know, "It got us to the moon, didn't
it?"), I'll be installing a new PROM, calibrating the TPS, installing a new
exhaust system, and enlarging the throttle body. You'll spend a couple of
days trying to get rid of the flat spot -- changing jets, metering rods,
setting floats, and secondary springs. I'll let my computer compensate
automatically for the changes I've made. Some people never learn...

What I am saying is in the long run that is what they want, if the USA and
the USSR sign 110% dissarmament treaties, Lybia, Iran, Irag, Lebbennon, Cuba

Okay, now it's your turn to listen up while I answer all those "points" you
made that you claim I never addressed, even though I have, many times, or
else feel no need to since my real feelings should have been obvious.
1. What do I have "against" the rich? Probably your concept of them, and the
fact that you ignore the fact that, whenever they are in power, middle
America suffers. Nobody in recent history, including MISTER Reagan has
worked for a dollar a year, but the fact is that those in that little club
seem to do very well at taking care of their own with little regard for
anyone else. Sure, Reagan can point to a low unemployment figure and say
"Look how well I am caring for the little guy",when all he has done is
provide ways for big business to shaft the employees by creating part-time
jobs, or minimum wage jobs that are barely enough to disqualify them for
assistance, but not nearly enough to support their families. He also
discounts those who have been out of work for so long that they no longer
qualify for unemployment, many of whom become the homeless he refuses to
acknowledge even exist. These are the problems inherent with the ruling
class in the good old USA, and if you don't think there is one, you are more
than blind, my friend.
 Secondly, you accuse me of nt attending GTs because of Rod Williams and
Todd Reese, and you know that is a d**n lie! I have had Apollo GTs at my
home, and Todd and I sat in my living room and discussed many things in a
friendly atmosphere, and, if we could leave our religious differences aside,
I believe we still could. As to Rod, I think that some of his opinions and
attitudes are objectionable, but still consider him a friend to this day.

The fact is that YOU have had much more to say in a derogatory fashion to
Rod over the years than I have. If you really do keep all the old posts,
(you must have quite a storage problem!), look them over and you'll see the
truth in that statement. If you are referring to the GTs I have missed over
the last few years, you are more ghoulish and inconsiderate and unfeeling
than anyone else on this BBS, for I told you personally after losing my wife
in such a tragic way that nothing in my life was the same any more, and that
my priorities had changed drastically. Even though I have remarrried and am
relatively happy, there are still many areas that are scarred and a part of
my past that still live with me. Actually, there are a lot of places I don't
go anymore. That aside, I have been to one Apollo GT, if you recall, one
that Rod attended, albeit late, and I made it a point to stop by his seat on
my way out and shake his hand. Sure sounds like I really try toavoid him,
doesn't it?
 As to my more recent problems with James White, I really feel no need or
obligation to explain them to you, since the real reason for my actions are
none of your business. Suffice it to say that, in your abysmal ignorance of
the situation, you have again misinterpreted my reasoning or intentions.
As to your more recent expletives, written when by your own admission you
were "drunk as a skunk", it is impossible for a platform (or any inanimate
object) to be so described. It then is obvious that you were referring to
PEOPLE, not a thing (platform). Your reluctance to admit your wrong is proof
of your monumental ego and self-appointment to the position of Mr. Perfect.
Now those are just a few of the REAL facts. One more and I'm done, for now.

Finally, you drag up the age old argument that has made the rounds of this
BBS more times than probably any other, namely homosexuality.
In one thing, you are absolutely correct. I have referred to homosexuals in
very derogatory terms, since I refuse to recognize them as "gays", a word
that has been abused in this area more than any other word in the English
language. THere is absolutely nothing gay (happy, joyful, gleeful, etc.)
aboabout being queer. I will readily admit to referring to them as fags,
queers, dykes, and any other insulting term that I can drum up, but what is
more important than the names I choose is the one that God chose years ago,
when He called them an abomination before Him, and condemned those who
practice such things and who take pleasure in them who practice them to an
eternity in hell.
 Yes, Cliff, I remember those who tried to pass themselves off as Homosexual
Christians, and I remember pointing them to Romans, chapter 1, which clearly
states that there can be no such thing, a charge to which they can never
respond, because it is an absolute truth that can not be whitewashed by
anything they can twist to their liking. I condemn nobody Cliff. As to the
homos, I don't have to. God already has done that, and to say so has nothing
to do with self-righteousness. To ignore the Word of God in this area is to
put Him to shame. Go for it if you wish, but not at my expense.
Any other areas you feel I haven't addressed adequately? If not, let's go on
to better things, since others on the BBS are becoming concerned for our
welfare.

Yes, I was impressed at what she did. Trouble is - a lot of people do that 
yearly, but the press does not report it. Just because she was a elderly
woman and grandmother was the reason they did this time. I still am at a
loss as to why they got charged with trasspassing?! If protesting is a
Constitutional right, how can they arrest them for being there? Of course,
they may have caused trouble, I don't know. Another question - if protesting

     On Friday night, KAET (Ch. 8) will televise a debate between the
candidates for U.S. Senator.  Mr. DeConcini has refused to participate.
Appearing will be Republican Keith DeGreen, the Libertarian candidate (whose
name has slipped my mind), and New Alliance candidate Ed Finkelstein.
     Finkelstein has made claims that DeConcini profited from insider info
when buying some Arizona real estate.  Knowing Ed, he probably has also
published quite a bit of expose-style material in his paper, The Tucson
Examiner.  DeConcini has denied these claims, yet refuses to appear in the
debate and refute them once and for all.  Maybe he does have something to
hide, I don't know.  Anyway, it should be interesting, and will give people
the chance to hear ideas other than those coming from the big two.
(Or, in this case, the big one since DeConcini chickened out.)
