It's "toe the line" not "tow the line."
Thanks for plugging for more home construction. The real
kicker, especially in this neck of the woods, is the massive
*surplus* of office space. This situation holds the prices
of individual homes (and rents) artificially high while
holding business expenses (for those who can afford to lease
office space) artificially low. When I find empty offices
at work, I sneak in and write on the whiteboard: "A homeless
person could have been living here." It usually stays on
the board for a *long* time because nobody cares until
somebody needs the office and nobody needs the office
because of the glut.

No, I don't believe we've ever met outside of Apollo.
I've been meaning to tell you again ... You know you really
have to be careful of using phrases like "advocating the
violent overthrow of the United States." This is a key
phrase that incriminated a lot of people during the
McCarthy witchhunts. It's still regarded as sufficient
grounds for a judge to authorize an FBI wire tap. I know
you're a peaceful guy so I assume you only mean it in a
hypothetical sense. I'd advise explicitly stating the
hypothetical nature of all such statements in the future.
It wouldn't hurt to keep hardcopies of these disclaimers in
a safe place. I may be paranoid but this is pretty cheap
insurance for possible future trials.
A safe alternative would be to quote the part of the
Declaration of Independence that deals with overthrowing
a tyranical government.

I'm sorry that you have such a low opinion of yourself Annie. God thinks a
lot more highly of you than you do of yourself, apparently, because He has
set you and established you (and me, and the rest of us. lest you feel TOO
exclusive) above the rest of the world. It (they) are not only beneath us,
they are our responsibility. Unfortunately, we have done a pretty miserable
job of things, which is why God had to provide a means of escape for us from
the burden of our sins. He did just that in the person and work of His Son,
Jesus Christ, but that's a whole other story, isn't it? If you can't
understand man's relationship to others and to this world, how can you ever
understand our relationship to God? It ain't easy, but it's well worth the
search.

I would like to be some sort of invisible person in the room where those
"polls" are conducted. Of course, you can always make a poll say anything
you want it to say. It's not too difficult, for example, to find a poll that
will be anti-Republican if you only poll the rolls of the Democratic party.
Or slant an anti-candy poll at Weight Watchers.

Unfortunately, Gordon, you are accepting the false premise that
homosexuality is an unavoidable circumstance. It is a matter of choice, not
birth. It is considered a sexual PREFERENCE, indicating choice. I know of
former queers that have chosen to go "straight" and have done so,
successfully and happily. The act of homosexuality is still a SIN. Again,
may I suggest that you read ROmans, chapter 1.

Lot may have OFFERED his daughters to the homosexuals at the door who were
looking for the male angels, but it is never said that the offer was
accepted. Queers don't have much use for members of the opposite sex when it
comes to that sort of thing.
And just where did you get all of your warped ideas about the Apostle Paul?
It sounds like you've been reading some out-of-date Israeli National
Enquirer or something. Apply all things in Scripture to the context in which
they are found, and you'll get a totally different point of view. It's easy
to tear words or statement out of context and make them mean almost
anything. "Judas hanged himself. Go thou and do likewise." See what I mean?

I still would not classify the homo sapians as unique above all others on
our planet. All species could be called unique.
The only thing that we are unique on is going against our nature all the
time or trying to! In doing so, it probably makes us the most un-happiest
species around.
We could be called unique also by calling what is natural to our species a
'sin' - like sex when puberty calls - maybe even homesexuality.
Why have you labeled me negative because I don't particually see us as
unique? Human's have many wonderful attributes that is uniquely their's, but
so does the Capuchin monkey, the lowly cockroach and the black Rhino.
Don't try to make me feel bad by comparing me to Rod. I go along with most
of what he says and admire him for saying it! *>>> ANN O. <<<*

Good point Michael - in that sense, dogs do indeed kill for territory. My
point is, that is their nature - they are not going against it.
We, as a species, I feel also are killers, but we call it 'war' and justify
it - yet, on the other hand, we make it a sin to kill! But we have this
great thinking brain and you'd of thought long before now we wouldn't have
to kill anyone, but under these circomstances, we are no better or unique
than the dog that kills for his territory. *>>> ANN O. <<<*

two of those chickens were roosters too!! We also had four female ducks that

I like your message. If we consider ourselves part of the earth living here
with all the other animals and plants, then we will treat our environment
differently than if we think we are the "unique" species and we can do what
we want including cutting down 1000 year-old trees and killing rhinos for
their horns and chopping down the rain-forest.

Gee, that explains why management tells me that management's
policy is to withhold advancement from those employees who
do too *good* of a job ... not *despite* their doing too good
of a job but *because* they've done too good of a job.
It also explains why, when I indicate the similarities
between such policies and the policies of a caste system,
management responds with "There are no laws against caste
systems." ... This from a "progressive" organization, mind
you.
The left hand is Government. The right is Corporation.
Woe be to we who stand between the hands as they applaud
their mutual application of raw power.

Among the items the venerable Stanford University was
accused of billing the federal government for recently in
some expense account rigamarole (as uncovered by the General
Accounting Office) were the enlarging of president Donald
Kennedy's bed, the purchase of special sheets for the bed,
and $6,000 to line his closet with cedar. Kennedy stood by
his interpretation that federal regulations permitted the
expenses.
