I wouldn't have known who Stumpstedd was unless you told me, but have since
remembered you did tell me awhile back that was one of your alias.
Anyway, you did a terrific job on the booklet. -=*) ANN (*=-
P.S. We are getting in need of a new 'hot' topic on the BB. I don't want to
be the culprit again, so why don't you go ahead and start something? Ha.

Hey................................!!!

I'm concerned when I read Cliffie's posts about taking Apollo down.
There ain't no place like this place anywhere else. Maybe we all ought to
act a little more appreciative about what we've got here instead of jumping
all over the poor guy just because you don't like the way he shaves (or
doesn't shave) or because you don't agree with the place he goes to get in
touch with the 'Force.'

Are you insinuating I have something in common with a wooden dummy? Using my
elongated nose for a perch indeed! I have two HUGE shelfs sticking out from
my chest that Randy can use for perches! I want you to know that my 'nose'
comes from my wonderful French heritage and is quite lovely. Geeze!

No way I am dumping Rod. Most of the time, I do NOT agree with
Rod's views on Religion, or other topics for that matter, but... he has done
so much for Apollo over the years to bring excitment (sometimes rage) that
Apollo would not be the same without him. In fact, Apollo would be pretty
damn boring. I am proud to call Rod Williams an APOLLOITE!

Apollo's hours will remain at a full 24 per day, 7 days per week...

P.S. There are many other people I feel proud to call Apolloites,
so don't feel left out.

Hey Lloyd! Where you been guy?
Maybe you ought to change opthalmologists friend. You're not agreeing with
Rod in your last post. Rod thinks that The worst thing that has happened to
the world is God.
Actually, you're more in agreement with me than you may think, since I have
said many times, and still feel, that the vain traditions and doctrines of
men have done more harm to the message of God through Jesus Christ than
Satan, the prime enemy of anything that is righteous could ever do. The best
thing anyone cold possibly would be to abandon all the gobbledegook they
have been taught in their old line denominational churches and get alone in
their prayer closet with God and His Word and seek Him for themselves.

Hey.....................Cliffy.........

Please reconsider taking Apollo down. I spend a lot of time in other
cities and have to tell you that there isn't another BBs anywhere that can
compare to Apollo! (How's that for a compliment!) As to hours, if you shut
down in the morning hours I may have a real problem getting on.

This is coming from Norfolk, Virginia this week. And you oughta hear
how they pronounce Norfolk here!

Bejamin Franklin made a statement to the effect that freedom is
rarely lost catastrophically from an invading army or other such force.
Instead it is given up a little bit at a time in the name of one GOOD cause
or another untill suddenly there are no more freedoms left to give. That is
happening in our country now. Many of the 20,000 gun control laws on the
statute books of this country have a noble sounding purpose. Yet
antigunners, are always crying that the reason these laws don't reduce
violence is because we need more. I say enough is enough! Even an attorney
can't keep up with more than a few of these laws without referring to an
extensive legal library. Do you really expect the local drug dealer with an
illegally obtained machine gun to be concerned because he forgot to get a
gun license?

I strongly oppose any legislation to ban semi-automatic firearms,
including H.R. 669, H.R. 1190, S. 386 and S. 747. Instead I support the
N.R.A.'s plan to get criminals off the streets. We need Crime Control, Not
Gun Control!!!
Let us get this message to Senator DeConcini today! There is no time
to waste. If you want, I have a petition you may drop by and sign. I will
see that DeConcini gets it!

Date: 05/04/89 Time: 12:04:52

Giving DeConcini the benefit of the doubt, it appears he was
misinformed about the number of Arizonans who wanted Gun Control. He
assumes 50% of Arizona is in favor of such legislation. Last night 6
representatives for the Arizonan's who do not want any more gun control laws
talked to some of DeConcini's aids (DeConcini did not show up). After a 2
and 1/2 hour discussion DeConcini's aids now understand our position and
will relay our feelings in the matter to DeConini today.
DeConcini is to be told there will be NO compromise on his S.B. 747.
He will be told to pull his bill and to vote against Mezenbaum's (sp) SB386.
Strategically, we would rather have SB386, the more restrictive of the two
bills, go to the floor for a vote and let it stand on its own merit. It
would be better in that many more Americans will stand up and protest with
SB386 than with SB747. Neither bill is wanted, but the compromise is to have
SB747 pulled and allow SB386 to run on its own merit.
DeConini's aids have guaranteed a response from DeConcini, what type
of response they could not answer. We requested a Public Forum. They will
let us know if such a Forum can take place and when. Stay tuned, I will keep
you informed.
If DeConcini does not heed the wishes of his voters, now that he has
been officially informed, there could very well be a Recall movement with
DeConcini as the guest of honour.

On another SIG you mentioned two huge 'shelfs' (shelves?) that a bird could
perch on. Then in the OFSIG I think you were offering to ride around in
your Chevvy in a miniskirt and see-thru blouse. Is there any connection?

P.S. why would a mature, sensible, woman (and I'm sure that you qualify
on all counts) ** want ** to show off her 'shelfs' in a see through blouse?

Whick brings me up to F*A*S*H*I*O*N as promulgated in the so-called
women's magazines and the popular press. Why would any sane adult person
want to costume herself in the articles of non-clothing illustrated in the
media. (And seen at the local shopping malls?)

I am frequently told that I am too conservative in my dress, but I have
very little regard for clothing except to keep from calling attention to my
pot-belly and advanced age.

Yesterday at Metrocenter I saw an elderly woman in a miniskirt, white
leather boots, tank top and orange-dyed, roached hair. I had the feeling
that if she had been loitering in front of Fredericks they would have had
Security ask her to move. Its her privilege to look like that, I know, but
what would induce a person to do so?

No, Paul, I don't feel that the worst thing that has happened to man
is God, as you put it. I do, however, feel that one of the worst things
that has happened is a carry-over of beliefs from early man and that
includes a need to keep a deity in existence. You can throw astrology in
with that lot and while we are at it, the number 13, walking under ladders,
black cats, breaking mirrors and praying to something that is susposed to be
much more intelligent that we are.
