        How about suicide?  Lots of people will do that as the weather grows
hotter and the polar ice melts, indulating the lowlands.  But people will
still drive their cars, use their hair spray and run their refrigeration
units.  Drugs will be used more by the masses with politicans collecting the
profits while keeping them illegal so they will be the only ones
distributing them with little real competition.
        But it is a happy world, isn't it.  So smile.

        There are a good number of you who so far have not oted on the
Story Kontest.   Please read the Stories and ote for your favorit one.
The people who took the time to write them need your otes.
        
        Let me remind you that Apollo uses the 'Greeking' feature in the
ote... That means I the SYSOP can NOT see what you are oting for even
if I have the monitor on when you are logged in and oting.

        I hope to have an 'Awards Night GT' when the oting is complete.

        Yeah, get out and vote you commie stooges or Amerika will go down
the drain real fast.  The stories will be worth your time to read them and
they may give you a few ideas.  If you don't know how to download from the
(L)ibrary then you are dumber than I thought.  If you know how to both
download AND read then you are lazier than I thought. 
        While the world is going down the tubes the least you could do is
read the stupid stories and have a good laugh.  Laughter takes away the
tears of stress and frustration of not having ever created anything that has
thus far brought about immediate social-economic changes in the world. 
There are NO statues of you in the parks across America.  But you are
fortunate in that there are also no pigeon dropping on you shoulders either.
        So, take a true capitalists word for it and read them damn stories
or you just may find yourself burning in the depths of hell for all
eternity.  Yes, He moves in mysterious ways, to be sure, as it were and were
not, the first is the last and the last always gets jerked around.  But fear
not, there are just too many jerks for anyone here to be dead last, just
second to last which means that you get zip.  
        If this message makes absolutely no sense then you are reading it
correctly, score an A.  But if it appears to be meaningful as well as
prophetic then you need professional help.  I'd suggest Madame Helen at $15
per visit.

California has an even more stringent emissions testing program than
Arizona, and it is responsible for lowering the amount of smog over the Los
Angeles area. I think it is well worth the $7.50 we are required to pay.

Why tests for vehicles less than 5 years old? Because like any other
component on an automobile that is exposed to heat, these parts sometimes
fail. People also tend to remove emissions control equipment becuase they
think they will either get better performance or gas mileage.

It's perfectly reasonable that a car might fail one day and pass the next.
Much of it has to do with the length of the line at the testing station, and
whether the driver let the car idle while in line or not. That's why they
run a "conditioning mode" test on cars that fail idle emissions. If the
cause of failure was either due to idling too long, or the car cooling down
below the temperature at which the catalyst "lights off," this will usually
cure the problem.

A couple of questions --- Re: the car not passing one day and will the next
because of idling in line or the car cooling down below the temp at which
the catalyst .. etc. Doesn't these same things happen everyday while we are
on the streets? If so, then what good does testing do? We pay the $7.50 and
still pollute! 
True, L.A. has lessened their smog - but it is still formidable and hardly
noticable. Where there's that many vehicles, there's going to be smog no
matter what! 
AND - taking the Catalitic converter off DOES make the car preform better!
With the price of automobiles, high gas and maint. costs, insurance etc. I
can't blame some one for taking it off to try to save a little money! I know
of many people that go to Yavapai county to get their licences so they won't
have to go to emissions. 
Re: the government's effort to control pollution - kind of reminds me of a
cat in a kitty liter box .... 'covering it up' but the stink is still there!

        Just vote for the candidate with the best smile.  The issues do not
matter, no one understands them anyway.
