        Dean.... Taking Apollo down would have nothing to do with a
differance of opinion with another user...  What gets to me is 6 hrs of no
callers...not so much as even a wrong number.  In fact, there have been
times I have stated almost opposit of what I really feel to get people
going.  And, it works if you ask me.  The board seems to slow down the most
when I don't post for a while.  A debate is only intersting if there are two
or more sides.  The worst ones are when all agree.
        As for the hours... it will remain at 24 hrs so to be fair to ALL
users.
        Freedom of speech also applies to SYSOPs (even if we are the scum of
the earth) (but let me add, above lawyers and insurance sales men.)

Besides, I was referring to the Haight-Ashbury that still exists in Rod's

As you pointed out, the district has changed, as all things are subject to

for those "changes" he would like to see society make.

1. I do not judge. God Himself has taken over that awesome responsibility. I
form and voice opinions, as do all the other users of this fine (24 hour)
BBS.
2. If I really annoy you, you have as much right to express your opinion as
I do, and I can appreciate that. It's what makes for good BBSing.
3. My "judgement" (opinion) is based on far more than just Rod's supposed
lack of need of God, but on the entire scope of his anti-God, anti-Christian
philosophy that causes him to be very insulting and demeaning to everyone
who confesses their need for God and/or their thankfullness for all that God
has done in their lives. I have a much broader base for my opinions than you
give me credit for, and your annoyance annoys me. So there!

In my own family, this still prevails. I've been told my husband's mother's
mother (got that?) was a real Bible thumper and spent 45 years of her
marriage trying to convert her husband to 'the right faith'! She didn't! But
it took it's toll on my mother-in-law because even today she worries
that her father is in hell. And not only that, because she herself doesn't
go to church, she suffers the pains of hell on earth. Now I don't understand
why she doesn't simply go! Or quit wringing her gut about it - but she's in
a constant struggle with herself. On top of that - during the 40s - her
brother married a Catholic and their mother never forgave or saw him again.
This also took it's toll - because my mother-in-law never saw him again
either for fear her mother would do the same to her. He got killed by a
train at 41 yrs. old and she has never forgiven herself! Her mother died in
the late 50s and she's been living in misery ever since. Makes a lot of
sense doesn't it? She's 81 years old now and won't change. It's very sad.
The power of religious brain washing is indeed very powerful!

        It appears that DeConweenie is dodging the public as well as
Arizona's organized gun and rifle associations.
        There was a meeting to be held tonight at DeConcini's Phoenix
office. This meeting has been postponed by DeConini until this Wednesday.
I called his Phoenix office and they told me they knew of no such metting
taking place on Monday or Wednesday. After making a few more phone calls, I
am led to believe that DeConcini is trying to confuse the public. He seems
not to want any large crowd to gather around his office for fear it would
attrack the news media.
        The meeting to talk to DeConini is being scheduled for this
Wednesday at 6 p.m. The organizers will not take another postponement. It
will be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m. even if DeConini's doors are locked.
So, come out all you bodies ....... stand up and be counted.
        Sad to say, there are  people from other parts of Arizona who
are showing up tonight. There will be someone there to tell them of the time
change. I hope to see them on Wednesday, too.

        There was an interesting article in last weeks New Times concerning
the Hemlock Society.  It is made up of people who want control over their
deaths.  The reporter pointed out that the members are all highly
intelligent.  He also reported that in Holland injections to end the life of
a suffering individual were legal.  WOW.   I keep finding out more and more
about the Nederlands.  Drugs are legal, they have a hell of a social system,
prostitution is legal, abortion is legal, and death is legal.  The
injections have been legal for five years now.
        Yes, Paul, I am taking contributions in order to move there.
        
        Anyway, Ann, your message about the damage that religion has done is
very interesting.  I don't know of a case of damage by a non-religion.  In
fact, all this Satanism crap that is making the news is interesting in that
it too is Christianity based.  Hmmmm.  Thanks.
