Governments are made up of people who got there.
People are like you and me.
The state of a government reflects the state of the people.
Like someone once said;
"You can go in dirty and you can go in clean, but you can never come out
clean.."
I challenge anyone running for office not to change their views, opinions
and overall morals one iota while in office.
Power corrupts. Wether it be power of money or power over people,
it still corrupts and will always corrupt.
That is why it is my opinion you'll never have a clean Government and
will never find one.

I agree. That's why I've always said that the government isn't for the
people at all. Power turns the best people into Dragons. See you =*--ANN--*=

Here it is May 5th, the last entry was April 28, so I guess everyone
made their points, whatever they were and decided to be quiet.
It is interesting to return to read, and find the many points to be

Today, the customary entrance and warm up of the engine at quitting time
was again disappointing. No Tom Lyekis .
Or is that leykis?
Anyway, unless he took the day off, I smell a rat. After that heated
argument the day before with Jamie McFarron I suspect that the General
manager had him yanked again.
What a fiasco.
Does anyone have good information on this? Will he be back or did they
yank him again and will we be stuck with that ice-chest voiced
Pommie for another month?
Anyone?

Nope, never played D&D -- it was always the enemy. It's kind of funny now
because in a month or so, I'll be doing a scenario for TSR designed for
AD&D. At some point I probably should play the game.
As for royalties on Best Sellers, I'd love to collect them too, but that's
up to the rest of humanity. Now if everyone on this board would buy 11
copies of my book when it hits the stands...

Mabe if someone was good enough to post a list of all the sponsors of KFYI,
those of us who don't care to wuldn't have to listen to it, just call the
sponsors and tell them that we wouldn't listen to a station that endorsed
the overthrow of anyone's constitutional rights.

Tom had said ahead of time that he wouldn't be in yesterday, since he'd
be in court. I keep hearing about the spat he had with Jamie McFarren.
What happened?

Paul: What you suggest was what got the Friends of Tom Leykis in trouble
in the first place. People are hesitent to do it again, fearing they'll be
socked with leagal bills, too. That, sadly, was most likely Weber's
intention. But anyway, to find out the sponsors, just set your radio to 910
AM and write down the names, then look them up in the phone book.

SL: When did you come up with the idea of meetings?
JB: In the mid-'60s, Dick Higgins of the Something Else
Press invited me to a series of weekly meetings with the
composer John Cage. Cage was interested in meeting young
people in New York. The evenings had no particular agenda,
it was simply Cage leading a discussion. Everyone in the
room was erudite, filled with intellectual hungar,
intellectual desire. Most of them went on to brilliant
careers.
The sessions were held at Higgins' town house in the
Chelsea area of New York. Cage would throw out some ideas
and the talk would go around the room. Cage had an idea,
which is mentioned in one of his books, that there's *one
mind* - the one we all share. An idea could bounce back and
forth across the room without ownership and yet have a life
of its own and an evolution in and of itself.
Soon after, I began assembling my own evenings of avant
garde artists, writers, sculptors, and poets to meet in an
unscheduled, haphazard way at my apartment. No agenda,
except to be in the presence of each other's intelligence.
Simultaneously, I was grappling with certain issues and
ideas which were changing my own way of thinking. I was
turned on to J. Z. Young by McLuhan. Young's idea was that
man creates tools and then molds himself in their image. To
me, this indicated that reality is manmade. The universe is
an invention, a metaphor.

The Gestapo is alive and well in Phoenix! Common sense prevails!
I will admit that I am not in a very sane state of mind at this time because
of an event that just happened. I have no where to vent my anger but here. I
threw a few things around the house - kicked a few wall and swore a lot, but
of course, it did no good. If I was a strong man, I'd of probably put my
fist through a wall. Again, it would have done no good, but would have felt
very good! Here's the story --- My daughter lives with us and her three kids
- and their small dog. This afternoon, a little girl from up the street came
to visit one of the kids. When she came to the door, the dog either bit or
jumped up on her leg with his claws and produced a small scratch. She told
her father and he came over. We produced proof of rabies vacination in case
it was a bite. (which wasn't proven) But this father wouldn't take our word
and called the animal control. To make a long story short - they took the
dog for a 7 day quarentine in the pound. Why? Because his licence had
expired two weeks ago! It will cost my daughter $35 to get him out in 7
days! Not to mention the heartache of the kids having their dog taken away.
If his lic. had been current, they wouldn't have taken him. So, this tells
me, 'to hell with the rabies - it's only the money they want'! What is worng
with this father that he can't use some common sense? He could not only see
the dog was a 'house dog' and not vicious. It wasn't even proved it was a
bite and didn't look like one. If it had happened to one of my kids, I'd go
back and check it in 7 days to see if it was ill of something and if not,
forget it! Secondly, why can't the dog be kept at home for those 7 days and
then checked by a vet?
At least the guy that came and took him was nice and seemed to hate having
to do it. He even called in and told them he had a rabies shot less than a
year ago - but no good! HE also told us that if we hadn't of reported the
incident ourselves - we could have been fined up to $700! This is all so
idiotic it's unbelievable. Rabies is not prevelent in Phoenix. A person that
hurts another while driving does not have their car taken away without a
fair trial. A guy can totally beat up his wife and be out of jail in a few
hours on bail at least. But not a little dog. If it had happen to my
Pekinese - I would no doubt be in jail right now because I would not let
them take him! Period - no other choice!!! He does not and never has had a
rabies shot! Why? Because he is a very allergic type dog and I have had two
vets tell me it wouldn't be wise to give him one. Him and my daughter's dog
are 'silk pillow' dogs that don't set foot in the front yard without a
leash. I won't even let them go from house to car without one.
We also found out that if we took the dog away - not only would we be fined
but the little girl would have to take the shots in the stomach - according
to the law!! They sure have us by 'the Acorns' don't they? Writing this out
has slacked my anger a bit, but not much. Sorry - I am truly raving at this
unecessary heart ache. I fell so trapped in this world and there is no where
to run away from it!! A lot of you won't agree with me, but thanks for
listening anyway. =*--ANN--*=
