All tyrants want people to live the way the tyrant chooses instread of
their own way. It is the worst of tyrants who consider the people themselves
raw material to be remade.
See you later,

But what you always seem to miss with the "what the traffic will bear"
garbage is that workers also try to demand as high a wage as the traffic
will bear. Many of the workers at Circle K couldn't handle a job that pays
more, and those that can usually move on (as Alan did), and the low paying
job provided a short term refuge for them.

I notice some of you think corporations don't pay their workers enough
money for the job they are doing. If I remember my history correctly, that
is why labor unions were formed. They help by giving the indivual worker a
stronger voice. If all the workers can speak as one they can get more done.
But it takes a united front for it to work. It's the old saying "united we
stand divided we fall".

Trouble is - they got out of hand - have too much power and can and will
cripple the nation at will. To hire a guy that's worth $10.00 an hour, you
must pay him almost $20 after the workman's comp. insurance, sick pay etc.
is added to it! Having unions is a good idea that went amok a long time ago.

In many ways - I like what Japan has done in it's big corporations - the
people are guaranteed jobs for life and with a good salery. They share in
the profits if the company did good and get nothing if it does bad for that
year. In essence, they become part of that company. One thing I don't like
is they work too long of hours and the people have very little home and
family life which everyone needs.
With our big companies - it's seems I've been hearing a lot lately of them
letting people go that have been there for many years - just before they
retire - therefore, not having to pay them their rightful retirement fund.
One woman that worked at a well known bank, had been there almost 20 years
and they let her go because they were cutting down expenses. She was left
high and dry, with no insurance, and no pension, no skills except for a
banking job. If a bank does such things, where can one have a little
security in their jobs? This is one of three such cases that I've heard of
this year alone. By the way - they kept the younger people that had only
been there a few years at most. These people were not as skilled at their
job as she was. In fact, she said the only people that were let go, were the
older ones (been working there the longest). =*--ANN--*=

There aren't many high paying jobs around, that is why there are so
many more lower and middle class than the rich. I think it should be evened
out a tad bit more. The imbalance is too great.

From what I have seen, many unions are crap. They, in theory, may
not be a bad idea but the way some of them work doesn't sound too good.

Nineteen Ways to Be Offensive at a Wedding
Show up with a baby and claim he belongs to the newlyweds.
Cover yourself with glue to improve your chances of catching
the bouquet.
Offer to show people pictures of the bride f*cking a dog.
Tell people that you knew the bride before the sex-change
operation.
Tell the bride that the only reason you can look at her is
that you used to be a proctologist.
Instead of a standard gift, give the newlyweds a gift
certificate to a drug rehabilitation clinic.
As you move down the receiving line, spit on each person.
Ask the bride's mother to give you a handjob,.
Give the bride some Binaca, and tell her it kills the taste
of sperm.
Propose a toast to the bride's nose job.
Steal the cards from the wedding gifts so that no one can
tell who they came from.
Walk up to various guests and demand to see their
invitations.
After the bride throws her garter start people chanting,
"Throw your bra .... Throw your bra ...."
Tell people that the groom had to be given Quaaludes to keep
him from backing out.
Tell the rabbi there's no money to pay him, and ask if he'll
settle for shtupping the bride.
Assure the bride's mother that the groom is "hung like a
horse."
Return a bra which the bride left in your car.
If there's a hunchback at the Jewish wedding, tell him that
he has to wear one yarmulke on his head and another on his
hump.
When the bride is coming down the aisle, push the organist
out of the way and start playing "The Lady Is a Tramp."

Date: 05/28/88 Time: 13:43:58
First of all, people HAVE been know to steal for tobbacco and alcohol, and
food. Second, we tend to forget that people who need help with drug
problems have a much harder time finding it if those drugs are illegal.
There are many primative societies in this world that use drugs extensively
without the problems that we associate with drugs in western "civilization".
In those cultures: A) children grow up exposed to drugs, but have guidance
on how and how not to use them from the tribal medicine man. B) people only
use them in their natural unrefined forms. Refined drugs are harder to build
a positive relationship to. C) Ritual is used to engender respect for the
drugs. D) I forgot.
The drug problem developed in this country because bureaucrats wanted a way
to persecute minorities. When the transcontinental railroad was finished,
the chinks brought over to do the work were no longer wanted, so their use
of opium was used against them. Smear stories were circulated about chinks
getting white girls high on opium, seducing them and selling them into
slavery. Lawmakers used these unsubtansiated stories as their excuse to
write bad laws. Blacks were picked on for their use of pot for the same
reasons, by the same means.
I'm goint to try to load up a cute list I found. hold on.

1: There is some truth in what you say, although from what I
2:understand, the opium dens of the early days caused people to lay around for
3:long periods in a dream state. Opium induces euphoria and so does crack but
4:these drugs takes the will away from the user. I hear that people in the
5:opium dens sometimes stayed for days.
6: We would be a hurting nation if we allowed this to happen again. We
7:must be more alert than being in a drug induced state.

Who is 'Bloody Mary'? Would it be beneficial to have her appear. What would
she do for me/ to me? At least with the devil, I could sell my soul for all
the riches in the world, but Bloody Mary?
I had a dream about you last night. (drool!) Ha - only joking, it wasn't
that kind of dream. In the dream, we were having a G.T. and littlerly
hundreds of people showed up. Who most of them were, I don't know. We were
all standing in line to get in an Italian Restaurant. In the dream I
remember I wanted everyone to meet my husband and be impresses by him. I
went up to this long line and he was there, behind him was a woman (I don't
know her) and then there was you. My husband had a cigarette in his hand,
lit and was holding itin his hand which was held at his side. Suddenly, this
woman lets out a small scream and starts cussing my husband out for burning
her fingernail. I looked at it and there was a small black hole burnt in the
tip. She was so disgusted. You took a look at it and started berating my
husband. I can't remember what you said, but do remember how terrible I felt
because you were the main person I wanted my husband to meet and you were so
mad at him, I knew everthing was spoiled and I wanted to go hide. Usually I
don't remember too many dreams, but can still see this one clearly. Wonder
what it meant? =*--ANN--*=

smokers from sure early death and burnt finger nails.
