The question: Will I be sucker enough to get this Romulan Bird of

Zak, although I don't agree with every SINGLE action taken here in regard
to this matter, I do agree with the fact that, although this is the most
used, and easily most important SIG on Apollo, it is also the most easily
accessed by the general public. The COS SIG can be deleted from a $tatus
user's profile, but the PUB SIG is always available to users, $TATUS or not.
I also feel that restraint begins with the user. If the user lacks the self-
restraint necessary to suppress expressing personal fantasies on a general
access SIG, then the sysop may have to step in. Now, I don't agree that the
sysop of such a system should go over the deep end in editing, I think he
should have the authority (in a public forum, at least) to keep the language
down to at least a TV level (broadcast, not cable). If the user has
difficulty with expressing his or her opinions within these restraints, he
or she can use the SIGs on that system that allow mature subject matter. If
such a SIG is not available on that system, there are always other systems.
Or that user could set up his or her own BBS, in which they can be as loose
as they wish.
Television and radio, like free BBSes, are public-access media. Radio and
TV use 7-second delay to remove material that may be objectionable to the
listenership as a whole. BBSes are not required to do so (however there are
laws against using profanity over the telephone lines), but if the sysop
wishes to do so, it is his or her decision. It's the sysop's computer.
One thing that I've noticed is that when someone demands upon using
profanity to make their point, the quality of their material more often than
not declines rapidly. [Off my soapbox now.]

It seems that 100% of the data used to form opinions on who's a "good"
Christian and who's not, seems to be culled from 5% of the total life out-
put of the believers on this board, i.e. this BBS. Many of those people seem
to forget that there is another 95% to our lives, away from this electronic
conference, most of which is of far more significance than this board.
Bluntly put, if you are forming your one, complete, and all-encompassing
opinion of the Christians on this board based upon such little data, you are
an extremely poor researcher (to put it kindly).

Being 'Born Again' means a second birth, a spiritual one. We are all born
sinful, and are under the wrath of God. To come to faith by the Holy Spirit
and thus become a believer is that rebirth. It is not out of our own
personal decision to do so, but it comes from God. Just as we cannot give
physical birth to ourselves, we also cannot give ourselves spiritual
rebirth.
Make sense?
Every true believer called to faith by the Spirit is born again.

Might I add to my last post to Zak re: profanity. Although I would not
prefer necessarily to view material that is overly questionable, there is
little that shocks me. I have not been offended by the comments on this

from those who seem to be in the midst of conflict for using objectionable
language and figures of speech.

Yes, and furthermore, claims are not paid immediately. Thus, an additional
source of profit is interest collected on claims between the time of the

This is, in fact, quite substantial, though not often reported when figuring

Hi! I am interested in becoming a shareware author. I do not
know what kinds of programs are financially successful for their
authors, and I do not know how to go about distributing shareware.
Is uploading to BBSs an effective method, and if so, which ones?
There must be close to 10,000 of them in the country, and I could
spend the rest of my life uploading, if I tried to reach them all.
How about the pay services, like Compuserve, GEnie, etc? They seem
quite expensive just to send one file.
I am particularly interested in hearing of the experiences of
other authors.
I have written a program for the PC, which is a Personal
Information Manager, and also a DOS Shell with Menus. I will
attempt to upload it as PIM.ZIP, and I would like to encourage those
of you who visit other BBSs to upload it there. It only takes about
3 minutes.
Lastly, EVERYONE should definitely unzip it and try it. It is
very easy to use, and you should find it quite helpful. Please tell
me what you think of it. Even if you don't like it, I'd like to
know that too.
If I don't get back here right away, you may call me at (602)

It occurs to me that if the overwhelming number of flaws and inconsistencies
were necessarily attributable to either the dream-nature of the adventure,
or to incompetence on the part of the filmmakers, you are probably correct
in assuming the latter, as it is more likely. However, if you consider
the possibility that some of the inconsistencies were the result of the
former, and some of the flaws were the result of the latter, my earlier
theory is still plausible.

Bob: I'm looking forward to seeing that film. Probably when it shows up
over at Glendale Super Saver (I'mma cheepskate, I know).
Anyone: Have you seen Crazy People yet? I believe that is the title of the
I'm thinking about the film with Dudley Moore as an ad exec. I've
been wanting to see this, and I'd like to know beforehand if it is
good or not, and why.

I thought it was one of Schwarzenegger's best action movies.
However, It could have been a little bit less graphic in the violence
scenes. I am glad Zak told me NOT to take my boys... it is NOT a kids
movie in any way. But other then that, Sandy and I enjoyed, and it was
worth the $3.00 per person ticket price. 2:20pm Friday at Gateway

This production, made by El Chepo productions, Inc, Arizona is a
*very* low-budget pic depicting 13 members of a local public forum
bristling with assault weapons and brandishing side arms like
lolly-pops.
Filmed on-location in a typical trash infested desert area just outside
Metro-Phoenix (the labor was cheaper in New River)..the sad saga of
this group of tight-lipped gun freaks taking out their frustrations
on everything from harmless bowling pins to a life -sized poster
effigy of Bill the Cat in true form tongue pose. Adding assualt to
injuries, one by one the team of 13 pretended to stuff Bills mouth
with lead fillings. Complete with gutteral screams of intense joy and
release, the climatic ending had to be sensored due to the graphic
content of unwholesome rapid-fire violence. Only the soundtrack is
left uncensored. It is reported that 25 water-filled plastic jugs
met their creator after facing the unholy firepower of a group gone
wild. Horrible screams and neanderthallic hooting erupt in the last
moments amid a non-stop volley of deadly force.
[NR] Not Rated 'cuz it's been censored in areas. I recommend a healthy
dose of salt before watching..some of the motion will make you sea-sick
as the camera man bounces around on brick shoes. ;-)
