Sandy, Romantic is a "technical" term that indicates a story is written in a
manner that reflects how the author wishes the world were, not how it
actually is. I think what you are referring to is Romance, which refers to

not talking about the 'Green Carder's' who come over the border everyday to
work or the ones that do the field work farther in. I wasn't aware that we
OWE them anything such as medical etc.
I say if they come here to work, let them pay taxes! We DO NOT have a
Libertarian Gov. at this time, so why not?
I DO NOT think Libertarians are bleeding hearts in the least. How can they
be when they profess to wanting to give people more of their own choices and
leaving the government's nose out of it?
I don't believe in borders at all! What's bleeding heart (which has a

a clear view of a turn on the track and fairly close too. We watched the
half hour warm up and it was as good as the $35 dollar apiece standing room

The purpose of a marriage contract is, as Hamilton points out, to extend
certain economic benefits to families, and to provide economic security to
the wife and children in case the marriage falls apart. A "piece of paper"
is not a marriage, and a couple may consider itself married before God or
before each other without entering into a legal union. Homosexuals may, I
suppose, consider themselves "married" as well, as bizarre as that idea may
seem to me. But because they cannot have families, homosexual couples
should not be accorded any legal benefits. I agree that homosexuals should
be free to engage in their vices, so long as they are consenting adults.
But the government should not subsidize homosexuality.

I consider it a relief only due to the fact that for a (short) while, the
world will be able to breathe a little bit easier. That is until we see what
Ali Khameini has planned. I hear that he is going to be more of a
figurehead, and that there might be some moderatism in Iran's future. What
the man did was wrong. However, we are taught to hate sin, but love and pray
for all. To me that includes Khomeini. What he did was wrong, and I
certainly do not defend the many things he has done. However, I cannot
personally hate the man, and I cannot find glee in anyone's death. I am
certainly relieved in the knowledge that perhaps the gates are at least
partially opened toward diplomatic relationships with a more moderate Iran.

People's Liberation Army? Liberating them from what? Freedom? Democracy?
To "liberate" can also mean to "steal." In that respect, the name fits. The
Army and the People are one, sayeth the late Deng Xiao Peng. If that is
true, the Army is committing suicide. Unarmed students with an idea and a
hope, gunned down in cold blood, many in the back, by their own Government.
If you pray, please say a prayer for those brave Chinese youth, willing to
die for the right of DEMOCRACY. May this crimson example of the heartless
cold iron fist of Communist rule kindle the fires inside the heart of every
Chinese citizen. Let them open their eyes, and see their Government killing
...murdering their own children, children that only wish to speak their mind
and protest in a non-violent fashion. Let them clench their fists and fight
for what's right.

screening the new immigrants for such things as crime records, DISEASE, and

with an unchecked influx of people from EVERYWHERE!
I figured I would hear the word 'DISCRIMINATION' screamed from a
few users such as Mr Westfall. They are so paranoid, they are afraid
to look past their noses at real problems.
While we are at it, Ann said she does not like borders....
Well, screening at borders sometimes stop or slow down the spread of disease
in people, plants, fruit, and other products. It sort of keeps check on the
rapid spread of all sorts of problems. But I don't suppose short sighted
people would see that. I am also to take Ann is for a one world government?

Mexico, being so close but yet so far! But we have our own problems to work

From what I've seen in Mexico - in a sense, the people are more free the we
are - unfortunately, they go hungry and live in squalor for the most part.
If we could only combine the two - we could be more free and they would go
less hungry! We could at least help them by opening the border more than we

Witch hunting for homosexuals? That's what the media would like you to
think. Mecham, during a KTAR talk show, was asked his stand on
homosexuality. He replied that since it was against the law, he was against
government people practicing it. The caller asked him if he was going to
seek out these people. Mecham replied that the caller should "Show me a

context of the discussion and his comments). I seem to remember that the
announcer was caught off guard by his comment. Apparently he did not detect
it as a simple attempt at humor.

A fairly large percentage of the government is made up of gay men
and women. When they subsidize homosexuality, they are helping themselves.
I reckon even in the early days, the sheriff's tax collectors would
go to each individual homestead and extract the king's share of the tithes
set forth in the laws of the particular land of residence. Therefore if a
man and woman were living together instead of each having a separate house
then I guess they too would save a bit of their crops.
        Oh well.
