Chris Zagar.... Do * NOT * read this post! Leave this SIG for now!

Most of the elite Apollo Users know the very important roll that
Chris Zagar played in the development of Apollo. With out his help and
genius in the fine art of trick programing, I doubt Apollo would have lived
past one year, never mind seven! Well, Mr Zagar has come a long way from
when I first met him and is now about to get married in a few months. I
believe it will be sometime in mid September. Let me get to the point...I
would like Apollo to show him he is remembered by getting him a nice special
wedding gift from all us main users. I think I have been able to obtain
something that I know he will just love and for sure will be a nice reminder
of his Apollo friends and a rewarding thanks for his hard work and the
hundreds of hours spent working on Apollo. This item in mind costs over
$200.00 (a tad), and I will go it alone if I have to with no ill feelings,
as Apollo has brought me lots of joy and many fine friends. All worth a lot
more to me than a mere two hundred bucks.

If you would like more info on this, give me a call or post ONLY on
this SIG! I am sure if Chris should log in, he will honor my request and
not read these posts. (He is so love struck, I doubt he has time to view
this SIG)

I just made Chris an un-user of this SIG... just in case.
However.... he has the power to over-ride that and make himself a member of
ANY SIG. He probably will ask me first why he is not a member of this SIG
..... I just had an IDEA! If we rename this SIG the FEM SIG, Chris would
not even think of looking! Hmmmmmmm

Can you people think of anyother Apollo users that should be in this
SIG? You know, solid Apolloites that might like to share in this venture?

May I suggest a 'Batman GT' for ALL BBS users to be held on June 24
or 25th. Or are too many of you to OLD for such things as a Batman Movie.
I know Ann is....
Besides, she will be playing with her 'Bat Thang'.

Seriously, anyone interested?

I'm not going to attack your message. I merely wanted to point out
that "their" is a possessive pronoun, and you used it when you
meant to use "they're", which is a contraction for "they are."
Also, the aphorism you quoted is very old, far too old for you
to have coined. You said: "To coin an old addage (sic)..."
The verb coin means to create, or to invent.

First of all, if the (American) students who started the fire
were unaware that there were people on the train, at the time the students
started the fire, the charge for deaths in such a case could not be
first degree murder. Most likely, manslaughter would be the charge. Since
manslaughter does not carry the death penalty, they could not have been
legally sentenced to death for such an act. If, however, they knew that
there were people on the train, and set a fire with intent to kill, then
they could be charged with murder, and given the death penalty: just so.
In any event, there is no comparison between giving the death penalty for an
act of murder, and giving the death penalty for an act of vandalism carried
out in the name of political demonstration. If the Chinese students
attacked a vehicle out of self defense, then again, there is no comparison.

Have you ever been to Holland? I have and I thought it was great. It is
amazing how so many "crimes" occur legally and yet the place is so peaceful
and laid back. Of course I only stayed a little while and I was viewing the
place as an outsider (though I tried not to). I'm not suggesting that they
don't have problems over there, but they SEEM better off then we are (in
some matters at least).

Why are all of you discussing taxes, education, the situation in china,
and what's right and wrong when this sort of behavior is just "a token

it [can] accomplish anything?"

Oops! That should have read mailing petitions, and to the best information I
got in the petition circulating class I attended it is illegal. The person
circulating the petition MUST personally witness each and every signature on
that petition, and must swear to that fact before a notary before the
petition is acceptable. To do otherwise constitutes fraud.
Just thoght you might like to know before you goof.

Rod said it right about them setting a train afire and six people were
killed. They also beat 21 railway security officials. 900 bags of mail were
distroyed. They also set fire to police motorcycles. Granted, in this
country they'd probably get a slap on the wrist for such action - except for
distroying the mail. For that offence, they'd spend their life in a federal
prison without parole! -=*) ANN (*=-

on Elm Street 1,2,3,4 - Friday the 13th part 1 through 5 - Preditor - The

Perhaps this point can be made more clearly by way of analogy. Let us
suppose you have two married couples. Ann and Rod, the first couple, have a
nightmare of a relationship. There is little affection between them. They
fight often, and both have extramarital affairs. Rod frequently beats Ann,
and he abuses their children. The second couple, Kevin and Millie, have
basically a good relationship. They are affectionate, enjoy each other's
company most of the time, but occasionally have arguments and do not always
meet each other's sexual expectations. Now, suppose Millie and Ann are
friends, and Millie hears of Ann's troubles, so she tries to counsel Ann how
to improve or end her marriage with Rod. Would you say the two marriages
are not fundamentally different? Is Millie doing something wrong because
she's concerning herself with her friend's marital problems more intently
than her own? Is Millie "smug" if she says she loves Kevin and is basically
satisfied with him despite his imperfections?

Of course, the answer to all these questions is no. But these are exactly
the kinds of arguments you are making with respect to politics. Because our
country is imperfect, it is no different from an absolute dictatorship.
Because our country is imperfect, it is wrong to criticize other countries
that are absolute dictatorships. Because our country is imperfect, those of
us who love it are "smug."

I think your political views are obscene. For your husband's sake and
yours, I hope your attitude toward marriage is not the same.

Perhaps the students were charged with treason. Treason carries a
death penalty. But, I really do not know the facts. I find it hard to
believe every last detail, as reported, on the China issue. For that matter
it is good to carry a grain of salt around in your pocket. Recently though,
I have been scraping it (salt) from my forehead. -Rod
P.S. Thanks for the response.

I am attempting to find out every detail about Holland that I can.
Today, while talking to a friend who also has been there, he said that
present day Holland is a model for the world. The U.S. once was that model
but we are going to have to help bring about some necessary changes in order
to regain that position. It is possible that we can do this and that leaves
me with a good feeling. I do not speak Dutch so I will remain here and hope
for the best. Thanks -Rod
