It amazes me that my children managed to reach adulthood without the
spiritual guidance of Almighty God. I like to think they don't have to carry
around the mental garbage I have to. They probably have a different set of
garbage and will turn into Mormons and have 5 children each.

Yeah, the city sidewalks the homeless sleep on are urine soaked and full of
trash. At least in the country I could lay down and if I didn't wake up I'd
know that the local critters would have a good meal. No mess, no waste.

Actually, one signal that sexual abuse is occurring is the use of adult
sexual language at a very early age.

> But the reason it IS "off-putting" is because of situation IS
> "off-putting".

I disagree. The word simply seems out of place. The situation IS
off-putting, but it's supposed to be, isn't it? "Cock" just seems to
disrupt things, put off the flow of the language somehow.

For 40 years, I had a monogamous relationship with my first wife.
Then, sadly, she died. That terminated that relationship rather definitely.
As of today, I have not committed adultery during the course of my present
marriage, nor do I intend to. Other than that, my personal life is none of

Why? Because I was under the assumption that this was an open forum for
free exchange of divergent opinions. Apparently, I am wrong. Should I get
some Dr. Dentons and goose-step in time behind you. Perhaps I could compose
a new hymn and we could sing it together. Something like:

God loves Mapplethorpe, God loves you,
God loves Serrano and his "Piss-Christ" too.
God loves abortion, and a woman's right to choose,
And he loves to be degraded on the evening news.
   Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
   Halleluallah, and Hallelubuddah,
God is just a happy kinda guy,
He's just daisies and banana creme pie,
Big warm fuzzies and ham on rye,
He don't care if you live like a sleaze,
Catch all sorts of veneral disease,
Shoot up drugs, and drink like a fish,
God's just a candy store, so do what you wish,
   Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
   Hallelhallah, and Hallelubuddah,
God is just a happy kinda dude,
He don't mind if you get a little crude,
So rape and kill and maim and screw,
It doesn't matter cuz God luvs U. - Hymn 666

First of all, reality is not what you make it. If you are in an
automobile accident, deciding that that incident was not reality will not
make it any easier for them to seperate your face from the safety glass
windshield. It is not your "personal reality" that keeps the planets in
alignment and in orbit. It is not your "personal reality" that makes the sun
rise in the morning, and set in the evening. It is not your "personal
reality" that causes the sun to shine or the rain to fall. In short, your
"personal reality" is really nothing more than a personal delusion, or
fantasy.
There is a Higher Power beyond ourselves. The One that created this
rock and put it right where it is. The one that decided that, if you throw
something up into the air, a neat little invention called gravity will keep
it from floating off into space. The Reality is the One that decided that
you would be a part of this world. Your "personal reality" cannot change
that. Sure, you can discard this REAL reality for a fake one, but like the
safety glass, it's not going to keep the REAL reality from hitting you
upside the head every once in a while. The reality is not that we are
progressing as an animal into higher and higher states of being until we
reach that state of nirvana, or perfection. The reality is that not only is
human perfection gone, but the quality of the created human specie is
gradually degrading. The reason that we only use 10% of our brain is not
because we will keep advancing until the time when we will evolve into the
capacity to use the other 90% - the reason is because our first ancestors,
who had a perfect body, a perfect 100% functioning brain and no limitation
to their lifespan, screwed up and blew it for the rest of us. Your
grandparents were a better specimen of human than you are. And your children
[if you ever have any] will be inferior genetically to you. In short, the
actions of our oldest grandparents have put us into the state we are now in.
But the reality is that, despite the seeming chaos and disorder,
everything is under control. Our Ultimate Reality will, in His own time and
in His own manner, deliver us from this downward spiral. That is, if we
haven't lost sight of that Reality. If you have, then you've just become
the Ultimate Fool.
No offense, just calling them as I sees them.

When or how often a car breaks down has little to do with the car you buy.
It has a lot more to do with the time and effort one spends under the hood
on preventive maintenance. I'm sure that this is what Cliff was referring to

I remember when you were a young fellow that posted other than religious

Nothing new, just Bible quotes - as if you do not anymore have a free
thinking mind. What happened to you? What ever it is changed you, I don't
want it! Sorry. So much preaching turnes people off. There are other
Christians here that state many times what they believe - but you do it
constantly! So, hows you married life? The weather? Your job?

I didn't either. That's why I said nothing until I was ASKED to intervene.

I've tried to do a good job as Cub SysOp, working hard to steer clear of
making judgments based on who is talking or what their message is -- until
it violates the [R]ules.

In spite of this I've been asked THREE TIMES "IN JEST" to become involved in
discussions. I don't appreciate that. It wastes my time and belittles
efforts encouraging open, yet courteous discussion here on Apollo.

Roger and Paul Savage are both valuable members of this system. They both
profess respect for the [R]ules, yet they break them. One whines about
being offended, yet when action is taken, they cry, "We were only joking."
When asked to promise not to request action unless it's really desired, they
clam up and ignore the request.

No wonder Cliff gets suicidal. This is idiocy.

The pointer is at the last message read Mr Westfall. However, if
you post a message, it sees that as the last message read.

To prove my point... try not posting any messages in some sig or
this PUBlic board. Stop reading before you come to the end of the posts,
log off, then back on again... then do a [$]cmd... you will continue where
you had left off at. Since you post so much, maybe it would be better if
you read all the posts on a first pass of the [$]cmd, then answer the ones
you wish on a second pass.

Since you obviously do not read all posts or the files in the [M]ain
menu about this System and the [I]nfo cmd. Bill Burkett DOES have the power
to place people in the PHAntom Zone as he is a Cub SysOp in training.

I would love to reply to you but first I need something to reply to. Your
bible quotes are stupid and whoever wrote them in the first place was lame.

The entire book you quote from is a mishmash of ambiguous words. I read the
entire thing and, yes, one could use it as a crutch which may be a step up
from being alcoholic but a very small step at that.

I realize that life is hard but I also realize that it is short. No need to
freak out and worry about the unknown. Even though you say that after death
is a known, I know that you do not really know any more than I so stop
pretending that you do.

Your poetry is excellent but your religion is weak and illogical.

Any organization that springs up with the intent of making changes seems to
