I could have said "Jimi Hendirxed" or "Janis Joplined" or many other.  No,
the theories are just late nite bull sessions I've been a part of.  People
get together and someone proposes some weird theory with no facts to back it
up but we discuss it.  The more paranoia in it the better it sounds.

If Morrison was done in by the Am. secret police I couldn't prove it, not
even begin to.  Perhaps humans will know more in 100 years but that type of
information, if there is any, is slow coming out, usually.

The story goes that Morrison as well as others who were corrupting
(uncorrupting) the youth of America had to be stopped and that was a job for
a CIA operative.  Take it for what it is worth and consider the source.

Why, what have you heard and what is your feelings, overuse of substances
that don't agree with maintaining the flesh, plot?

Head of the household, head of the home, head of the family, etc.  I think
we have 2 different thoughts here, you and I, on just what this means.  My
wife is head of the household, but I am head of the family.  My wife runs
the household and with my blessings.  She does whatever she decides is
right, but there is a point where she would stop and confer with me before
going ahead with her plan.  For example, if she wants to put in a desert
landscape, new wall to wall carpet, or put on a new roof.  She would never
consider going ahead without my input and permission.  I have no problem
with this.  I'm not sure if or why you do have a problem with it.  Would you
really put in new wall to wall carpeting without asking Whitey first?  If he
said no, would you go ahead and put it in anyway?  Is it possible we really
do agree on this issue?

with that? it states it right where I said it was in the Bible in clear,

No, the Bible doesn't say "women must bear children", but you ask me not to

Most rebellion is against some authority.  I think all rebellion is wrong. 
There may be a few cases when I would say it is OK.  I think some juvenile
delinquents wear long hair like a badge of rebellion against their parents. 
In so many words they say, "I know my parents dislike my long hair, but I
will wear it long anyway just because it rankles them."

I don't see a problem with praying in any situation or condition.  Again I
think the problem area Paul was addressing was rebellion in the church.

My answer is yes, as you know.  I believe the entire Bible is God's word,
supernaturally inspired so that it is inerrant in the original manuscripts
and has been preserved by God, so that it is the divinely authoritative
standard for every age and every life.  You are only refused Heaven if you
die rejecting Jesus Christ.

her hair, or does he have to get his cut?  Boy, that's just what we need --

Like Cliff, I have no problem with people using handles.  If people use
*different* names at different times, then that's a problem, because I would
like to know that the person who posted message X is the same person who
posted message Y.  But who cares what the person's *real* name is?  What are
we going to do with the information -- sell them a subscription to Playboy?
Go round to their house and duff them up? (as we say in England).

People's posts speak for themselves.  You get to know who the person is from
what they post.  Take Mike Carter's post on women.  I don't need to know his
name is Mike (and that's confusing anyway, because "Michael Learned" is a
woman (ugh!)).  It's obvious that a man wrote the post.  People will react
violently to it, but it does have good points that need answering.  It isn't
as "effed up" (as someone said before they got censored) as all that.

Thank you for an interesting post on the Flood: I have suspected entirely
on my own that there might have been some connection with the latest Ice
age. Unfortunately, there is not really enough information in the Bible,
the other records and traditions, or scientific investigations to
come to a satisfactory conclusion as to what really happened and when.

  The differences between men and women go deeper than just
childbearing. Men are not biologically equipped to nurse
infants until they are able to eat solid food. For this reason,
most societies have considered it logical and natural to give
the primary care of infants and young children to their mothers.
  Since children have limited mobility, this generally means that
the women are assigned homemaking and housekeeping tasks as well.
  Men, having larger bodies and muscles, have traditionally been
assigned the tasks involving heavy physical labor, and as a result
of women's caring for children, are more free to move longer
distances: so they have traditionally been given responibility
for outside and outdoor tasks.
  Even though most of these tasks are to some degree
interchangeable, and can be done by both men and women as
circumstances may require, attempts to entirely erase the social
distinctions have their own consequences. For instance: if mothers
are also lawyers, plumbers, backhoe operators, engineers, and
so on, who is raising their children?

 The physical differences between men and women are especially
evident and significant in athletics. There are separate men's
and women's teams and sports because women are at a disadvantage
and men tend to dominate mixed or coed sports. It is generally at
the request of women that separate women's divisions are recognized.
  There are also subtle psychological differences, and I put the
emphasis on subtle. I believe that women are, generally speaking,
better fitted for early care of infants psychologically as well as
biologically. I doubt that this is just male prejudice: often when I
helped care for my younger brothers, "mommy" was the only thing that
would satisfy what they wanted. Big brother or sister or Daddy
or food or clean diapers wouldn't do, sometimes.
  I would also say that men seem to be generally more competitive
and agressive that women.  Considering  that it is generally men
who abuse and dominate women: not the other way around, I would
say that that at least points to a DIFFERENCE between the sexes.

   Literalists have read the books of Romans and Hebrews, too.  Apparently
you haven't.  Literal readers (I prefer the term over "literalists" as I
feel to read the Bible literally means to read it as the writers (and God as
the ultimate author) intended for it to be understood -- without prejudice
or personal bias entering into it) read the Bible as a whole...not just bits
and pieces out of joint and out of context.  You should try it sometime. 
It's a very enlightening experience.

    The fact that there are so many interpretations is not because the word
is not true, but because we are fallible and sinful. All that we can do is

or a different gospel from the Christ and the gospel of Scripture.)

    Yes, I have, Thad.  I have read it and found that it contradicts the
Bible.  Thus, conscience will not allow me to accept it as inspired writing
from God.  Furthermore, the actual translations of the papyri that Joseph
Smith says he translated the Book of Abraham from, were not a writing of the
patriarch at all, but a pagan Egyptian funeral document.  It had nothing at
all to do with the patriarch or the God of the Bible.

response to them change anything?  The fact that you demand that I not quote
the Bible while defending attacks ON the Bible is a real puzzler.  Will my
responding to your posts in any way change your view, at least to the extent
that you will not oppose my right to have the views that I have?  If not,
indeed, would my response just be a mere striving after wind?  (Oops, an
unintentional quote from Ecclesiastes, sorry about that.)  If your request
to clarify that which I feel I have already made quite clear regarding my
views, is not going to achieve anything other than to justify in your own
mind your opinion that I'm wrong -- then is there really any purpose in

offline) laboring for a fruitless cause?  You already said in the very first
post of your series that you felt that I have no mind of my own.  Do you

That was a good post to me.  Hey, I sure wish this god of yours would come
and straighten me out.  But how would I know if it were the correct god? 
Any clues?  What does this god look like?  Does he have a beard?  How would
I know that it wasn't Satan tricking me?  I'm only human, you know?

It seems a shame that your God doesn't help you Christians out?  He is very
powerful, you say.  Seems like it could do more.  Perhaps when the coffee
break is over this thing will stomp me and sentence me to eternal
punishment, eh?  Perhaps It is much like the wizard in Oz.  

Well, just keep praying that your God gives you the wisdom to make others
understand.  That's what you'd like, to see others as happy as you, right?

But then who would you look down on?  Gotta have those otherwise you'd never
see how damn high you were, right?

Maybe you can get one of the arch angles to help you out if God is busy and

I most probably have done worse than those forty evil adults who made fun of
a bald head and sinned real bad and forgot to ask forgiveness because god
didn't give them time to so he killed them dead.

Gee, I wonder what the big man has reserved for Me?  Dunno, but considering
how smart the dude must be from all that I've heard, I'll just bet that He
has something even more creative than a she-bear, righto?

Maybe, I'll get a he-bear as we all know that he-bears are better than
she-bears anyday.  Or just perhaps I'll get eaten alive by big sewer rats
but I won't be able to die, no, I'll just have to endure that pain.

Maybe these little imps of hell will pull small patches of my skin off and
then salt it, forever.  Wow, O' wow, won't that smart.

Or maybe He will razorblade my eyeballs and then make them heal up real
quick (he can heal, you know), then razorblade them again and again.

Or just perhaps a combination of the above.  Eternity is endless you know
and the combinations and possibilities are too.
