I do not read supermarket RAGS... you do I suppose.

I have read about the Libertarian party... When I joined, I read
everything, and found out they are radicals with no real plan on how to do
anything. I became very uncomfortable with them to the point it gave me
shivers. Like the enemy coming in the back door quietly. Here you have
a party (the libertarians) telling you they will shut down the IRS, and yet
they can't even get on the ballot.

In the past, communists got in by telling people fantastic lies that
sounded too good to be true... The libertarian party smacks of the same
rhetoric. Dean has you believeing the libertarian people are not subject to
greed or crime... but it is fact, power corrupts, and the libertarians are
not immune to this.

Here is another idea for an upgrade to Apollo.

I think it would be nice if you had a CC: (Copy to) option in the post
office, so that if say, a user wanted to send you and Bill Burkett a message
reguarding a suggestion or a complaint, that they wouldn't have to type it
again. It would also be nice if there was a forward function after yuou
were done reading it. So that if you where talking about a hobby that
someone else was interested in, like a meeting time and place, you could
just send it right to him... Cliff, I am sure you could find time between
the Wife, Kids and 'Cuda, to make an upgrade to your baby... :-)

Anyone else like this Idea? Speak up... User involvement, let's hear it!

The Libertarian Party is evidence in its very existence that there is
movement and organization. The popular (controlled) news media is
controlled by government.

If anyone under government regulation steps out of line, so to speak, then
government holds the upper hand and can pull their license, harass them
throught the IRS, have them all investigated by the FBI and do hits using
the CIA. They all stand a chance of being Jim Morrisoned, so to speak.

Then don't work at a steel mill or be one the street six hours before and

I believe that a person can and does more injury to themselves from stuffing
mass into their stomach pouches than into their lungs. Both the stomach and
the lungs are both carriers of proteins to all parts of the body. Some
vegetable products contain energy when put into smoke or other form and
taken in. A Big Mac is harmful but is not a felony nor should it be, but
with proper education I doubt people would want to eat one very often.

Suppose they gave an election and no one voted. No one would win. They
couldn't assume office because each contender would think it was their place
to take that office and they'd end up settling it behind the bar or with

What I was thinking, in my own strange way, when I wrote that you must be
standing outside reality if communism and libertarianism look the same, was
how any two objects might seem to be following the same path depending on
your own path relative to them. It just seemed to me that the vantage point
from which advocating the absolute state is the same thing as advocating the
minimal state must be located somewhere outside normal space.
Did you understand that? I'd worry more if you did than if you didn't.

If a platform calling for a great reduction in state power were adopted as
public policy, there would be much less power in the hands of officials to
corrupt them. It would not be necessary for the office holders to be above
human weaknesses in order for them to be less of a danger to the rest of us
than the current establishment.
Would you care to tell us where you got the idea that the freedoms we
would stand to regain from a reduction in state power would depend upon the

'If something sounds too good to be true then it can't be done.'

If you had been told five years ago that the Soviet Union was going to
collapse and come to us, hat in hand, to ask for help in remaking themselves
in our image, I'm sure you would have said it was too good to be true.
If you had been told two years ago that we would go to war against the
million man force of Iraq's military, on their home turf, and destroy them
with only 100 hours of ground combat and light American casualties, you
would probably have said that that was too good to be true as well.
The quote you should have made was, "If it sounds too good to be true, it
probably is." Regaining our freedom probably is too good to be true, but
only because there are so many well-meaning enemies of freedom, not because
freedom's champions are not worthy of support.

What we really need is a "None of the Above" choice on all ballots. If
only a greater and a lesser evil are offered it is better to let the office
go unfilled and the paycheck remain unclaimed until someone capable of
defeating "None of the Above" in a fair contest does so.
The problem with that is it allows the voter a real choice rather than a
forced selection of the few alternatives the establishment wants to give
them. It could put an end to people not voting, because it is a much better
way of showing dissatisfaction than staying home. Those who would like to
channel the voter along predictable lines do not like this idea. You don't
even need to look any further than the nearest CRT to see an example.

Because it not only provides evidence from the earth and fossil record
that the Genesis accounts of creation and the flood are accurate, but it
also exposes evolution for what it is (a religion in itself), and the real
conflict not being between science and religion, but the difference between
the science of one religion versus the science of another religion.
I believed the accuracy of the Bible, but always had difficulties with
Genesis 1-2 (due mainly to the induction and brainwashing into the
evolutionary religious mindset fed to me in the public schools.) But this
series of lectures has dashed away those difficulties. It provides good
solid foundation, based upon the geological and fossil records, that Genesis
1-2 correlate far better and more consistently with the aforementioned
evidence than do the various evolutionary theories.
I admit my bias. But everyone is biased, be it atheists, agnostics,
theists or revelationists. Take an atheistic evolutionist, for example.
Can an atheistic evolutionist, in the course of his studies, ever take into
the account the possibility that God created anything? Certainly not...and
why? Because as soon as he does, what does he cease being? Of course, an
ATHEIST. Can a creationist ever take into account that God didn't create?
The answer again is, no. So it's not a matter of whether you're biased or
not, but rather a matter of which bias is the best bias to be biased with.

THere is no "supplement" to the Bible, Ann. The Bible stands alone as the
total, complete and absolute Word of Almighty God. What I said was simly
that there are certain things written in the Bible that pertained to
situations and circumstances that existed in Biblical times that no longer
exist. I tried to explain the one about women keeping silent in the church,
but you apparently missed the rest of that post. I haven't seen a place of
worship in my life that had a curtain in th middle separating the men from
the women, such as existed when Paul wrote that admonition against shouting
out in the holy place. One doesn't need any specific "ancient writing" to
know the customs of that day. Any study of temporal customs will create an
understanding of the circumstances.
Incidentally, I have learned much truth over the years from women teaching
in the church. Matter of fact, if it weren't for women, we would no doubt
have a very serious shortage of Sunday School teachers.

OK, Ann, there's no supplement to the Bible. However, what does happen is
that Christians spend days and weeks sitting around trying to figure out how
some embarrassing Bible quote could *possibly* be explained rationally. One
of the ways is to invent some ancient custom. If the ancient custom hasn't
been invented yet, then you get the "you need to spend years in order to
understand" answer which I got a month or so back. There is also the "you
shouldn't pretend to understand God, he is beyond your petty rational mind"

I wrote and produced a videotape a couple years ago that dealt with
intensive probation supervision, a program that basically involves house
arrest for certain types of non-violent felons. Generally speaking, it
permits them to leave their homes only for work, school or court-mandated
counselling. The program also places a heavy emphasis on restitution and
both regular and surprise visits by probations officers several times each

All in all, I was quite impressed by intensive probation and the results it

buy anything from phone solicitors. This direct approach seems to work very
well as it does not lead into some of the more aggressive tactics these
callers use to get you to listen to them. I have also found that the
frequency of phone solicitation has gone down.

You might consider Jesus' example at his trial, where he was
accused of many things and questioned many questions by those
who were only looking for an excuse to accuse him-- He answered them
nothing, for the most part, and when he did, his response was perfectly
calm and mild.
I can't quite point to a specific scripture, but in view of Jesus'
instructions to forgive brothers "Until seventy time seven", and his
general instructions, "blessed are the meek" and humble, It seems
rather out of harmony with the spirit of his teachings to return
insult for insult and mockery for mockery, or persecution for
persecution.

One of the members of the Constitituional Convention apparently thought
it "obscene" that members of Congress vote on their own salaries, but
the convention could not come up with a better way to arrange it.
If they could have seen two hundred years into the future, they might
have thought it even more so.
Question: In view of the fact that Congress is incapable of balancing the
budget, and is piling on so much debt that before long we will need tax
increases just to pay the INTEREST on the debt (already the largest
single item in the federal budget), and that reportedly some 96% of
Congress was reelected, and that they keep voting larger and larger
pay increases for themselves and performing worse and worse,
Have we in this country created an entrenched self-perpetuating
aristocracy in exhange for a representative government? We can't blame
the Soviet Union or anything else for this one.

I guess I shouldn't be too hard on you, Rod. At least you are not lukewarm
on matters of a religious nature. The only problem is, I wish you wouldn't
be so ambiguous. You need to start learning how to SAY what you really
mean.

Actually, it would be amusing if it wasn't so incredibly sad. An atheist

Christians who toe the Christian party line. It's like those groups that
demand equality and tolerance in religious matters, and then go on to list

He did not distinguish that men were better. Why did he bring up Eve's
sinning and causing Adam to sin? BECAUSE IT HAPPENED, that's why. Why did
he bring up that woman was made from man? BECAUSE SHE WAS. There certainly
must be a reason why God created the human race the way He did. (And please
do not respond along the lines of 'because the Bible was written by men who
were male-chauvinists.' If you do, then there is really no point in us
continuing this discussion because you see the Bible as the word of man, and
I see it as that word of God, spoken through man.)
I believe that women should receive equality in the workplace, just as I
believe that men should receive equality in the workplace. I believe that
all races should receive equality in the workplace. (Racism is a by-product
of evolutionary thought, as true Bible students recognize all humanity
having a common ancestor in Noah. Also, we are all the same color...some
just have more of it [the pigment melanin] than others.) However, in those
things which the Bible expressly sets forth as the duty of either a man or a
woman, then in those things I must hold fast to the will of God. Such as
the fact that I am against the ordination of women pastors, and against the
ordination of practicing gays and lesbians. Don't fault me; I'm only being
consistent.) As far as work and money goes, my wife makes quite a bit more
than I do, and it does not bother me a bit. I do wish that I was making
more than I am, however, as it would get us out of the financial sinkhole
that we are presently in.
I do believe that the man is the head of the household. I believe that
to be the case because (yes, he's going to say it again) God has set it
forth that way. The man/father of the house is to be the leader of the
house both in regular matters, and especially in spiritual matters. A
father is to be a role-model in this respect, a (decidedly limited) human
representation of our Heavenly Father. It is the destruction of the family
unit that has distorted the father's role, and resulted in all of the
feminist infiltration of the essence of God as Father AND Mother, or Father
OR Mother, take your pick, they would say.
And I do not believe the the Equal Rights Movement is seeking equality
for women. I believe they are seeking SUPREMACY. And I do not believe in
quotas. I believe that each person should be judged according to their own
merit. The white male is quickly becoming the discriminated one in matters
of employment. It should not be a matter of whether you are a Bruce or a
Shiela, or how much pigment you have in your skin, but how bleedin' well you
can do your job.

So you have proclaimed a new theology of public witnessing by
Christians based upon one verse of Scripture? Remember, it's the same book
that reads, "A fool says in his heart, 'There is no God.'" It also says,

"Shout [yes, SHOUT!] happily in the LORD, O righteous people!
...Sing to Him a new song, play well on the instruments with happy
shouting...All you people, clap your hands; shout [there's that word
again!] to God with loud rejoicing [yes, LOUDER, I don't think Rod can hear
you]..."

Christ was talking about hypocritical prayer, praying because you know
people will be looking and you want to really impress them with your
piousness. That is a far cry from sincere and heart-felt rejoicing, and
also from honest speaking of His truth with others. Remember, if it makes
you feel like you want to puke, you always have an [S] key escape.

clear passages shedding light on those passages that are less clear. The
Bible is it's own interpreter. And I don't feel that there is anything that

crossing out those passages which do not pertain to him.

I have taken it upon myself to eliminate evil, I have championed a cause.
I attack Christianity because it is the predominate religion in this land.
I, in all honesty see it as a vile and filthy thing that is corrupting our
youth. Look at what it has obviously done to you and some of the others.

I'm happy with my vocation. You cannot change it because your words of
religion are shallow and lacking in even basic logic. However you are a
good poet and if and when you ever wake up, you can help with the cause.

You twist words and meanings to suit yourself like other so-called
Christians on this board but it is so obvious to those who are free in
thought. You fool few.

I will continue my endeavor as it gives me a sense of purpose and worth. I
see Christianity as a disease that attacks the weak mind. -Rod
