Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before stumbling,
It is better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly,
Than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Just had to be a smart guy, didn't you Rod? Alright, I scanned the back
messages, and what Ann actually said (in message #44862) was "my Dad could
lick his Dad anytime". So, worse than being a shoe fetishist, apparently her
dad is a practicing homosexual, and Ann arranges dates for him (that WAS a
joke).
Mark
P.S. Hey Rod, I left a tooth under my pillow for the wombat one night, and
the next morning when I woke up, instead of a quarter I found an autographed
picture of Gene Siskol and a bag of feces. I framed the picture, but what I
really want to know is; can I open a passbook account in your bank? (not
about to let you live it down),

James, you are using bad stats. Even if they are from a relible source,
which you did not state, they are slanted in your favor.
What ages does this cover? Meaning that most women DO get married and
usually early. If we take one generation, almost 40% get married out of
high school. Then there are some that go on to college and get married
while in school. And then the rest get married after getting a degree or
shortly there after. So, after 18, there is a decline in the number of
single women, a big one, and then after 22 there are hardly any (15-25%).
The jobs that younger people do aren't usually career oriented. Many teens
and college students only hold minimum wage jobs, like say, delivering
pizzas. So, the average of girls against the guys in these age groups is
going to be very close, if not the same (for pay) because they start at
3.35. After college is when most people start their careers, and over half
of the female population IS married by then.

From *Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary*, 1980 edition, abbreviations
expanded.
Late Latin, from Greek *Iesous*, from Hebrew *Yeshua*.
I think that the Spanish took the name from the Bible, and used the
Spanish language pronounciation rules to come out with "Hey-soos." Many
"English" names have been take from the Bible, like Mark, Mathew, Luke,
etc., and have become so familiar that they seem like part of the language.

Pretty much a typical Mel Brooks film. A few intensely funny parts (you
should see what they do to *Alien*!), and many intensely dumb parts. It is
mainly a spoof of *Star Wars*, with bits on *Alien*, *Star Trek*, and
*Planet of the Apes*. Go see it, but see a cheap show.

- half way didn't believe it, but now I do! I can't figure out how it
effects Ev if his aid molested anyone. RECALL EV?? I don't know about that.
At first I kinda liked him - at least he didn't act like a politician - now,
he's not making any sense in very much of anything. I do like his stand
against the press though which I think is his right to do. But to recall him

Subject: Debit Card
Date: 07/08/87 Time: 13:13:22
I just heard an advertisement on the radio dealing with a
VISA - DEBIT card ......
Does anyone out there realize the danger in having the 'Debit Card'
an accepted practice in America????
Here is a quote from a Book, "Money", written apx. in 1970 by two
advisors of the Federal Reserve System:
"More in keeping with the twenty-first century will be a vast
nationwide balance sheet and clearing system, in which debits and credits
can be rung up virtually instantaneously be electronic impulse. Every
individual and every transacting organization of whatever sort will be
tagged at birth with a number and a slot on the 'books' of a computerized
nationwide accounting and payments system, a National Ledger as it were.
"... its introduction depends more on costs and financial
evaluations regarding its profitability than on purely technological
considerations.
"There are obvious advantages inherent in its being a governmental
function. For example, as matters now stand, employees of the Communist
Party USA are not permitted to receive social security benefits. If they and
other malcontents could also be denied access to the National Ledger, and
thus barred from making or receiving payments of any sort, the American Way
of Life could be made evenr more Secure."
------- My advice is NOT to use the new VISA-DEBT card -------
Let's make it an unprofitable venture ..... They will quit (for now).

There is an underlying force that drives together the
several creatures comprising myxotricha, and then drives the
assemblage into union with the termite. If we could
understnad this tendency, we would catch a glimpse of the
process that brought single separate cells together for the
construction of metazoans, culminating in the invention of
roses, dolphins, and, or course, ourselves. It might turn
out that the same tendency underlies the joining of
organisms into communities, communities into ecosystems, and
ecosystems into the biosphere. If this is, in fact, the
drift of things, the way of the world, we may come to view
immune reactions, genes for the chemical marking of self,
and perhaps all reflexive responses of aggression and
defense as secondary developments in evolution, necessary
for the regulation and modulation of symbiosis, not designed
to break into the process, only to keep it from getting out
of hand.

If you are treated unfairly because you are a woman, you certainly have a
reasonable grievance against the person who so treats you. This does not,
however, mean it is reasonable for you to draw sweeping conclusions about
the way society treats women. We all suffer from time to time because of
the personal prejucices of others; to say that this makes us "not free" is
absurd, as is postulating a grand social conspiracy against you or your
group.
There is no good reason why women should be considered a minority, or why
anyone should be given preferential treatment on the basis of their
membership in a racial, sexual, or other such group.

But that is precisely the point. Married men pursue their careers much more
aggressively than married women, bringing the average up for men and down
for women. Thus, it is not discrimination that accounts for the vast
majority of the so-called pay gap, but rather the individual choices of
millions of men and women.

I think I was born disliking politicians. The last one I liked was J.F.K.
and that was a LONG time ago. My husband also met Mechem and felt the same
way you do. I had a wee bit of faith in him at the beginning, but he seems
to be cutting his own throat. I also don't like the idea of him being Morman
either. Knowing the Morman religion reather well, I can't help but feel it
will influence his thinking and I believe church and state should NEVER mix.
Also, I do not read the Republic's articles on him much except to notice how
they are trying to make him look bad. Personally - I'd reather vote for
Clint! Ha - at least he'd be something to look at!!! OOPS! Sorry - I got
side tracked. Anyway - what are the alternitives if we recall him. Thats
scarey enough to keep him in office!! -- Ann

I understand that he was not an aide and had no connection with Mecham
other than what he chose to do on his own. I heard Mecham say on the radio
today that Shippy should have been smart enough to know that anyone who has
anything to do with him will be thoroughly investigated by the Republic.
Since he was not employed by them Mecham's people had never run any checks
on him.
