I know you'll love it. Arnie takes off his shirt on several occasions.
By the way, did you catch the Special Olympics Christmas show? It was
really good. It was broadcast from the Kennedy Compound, and Schwarzenegger
and his wife, Maria Shriver, were among the guest (as members of the Kennedy
family, that's no suprise). Schwarzenegger is really involved in the
Special Olympics. You may have heard the story of when George Bush came to
a special showing of Twins. Before the movie, some Special Olympics
gymnasts performed. Bush said he admired thier courage, but he especially
admired Schwarzenegger's courage in campaigning for him and then going home
to the Shriver's.

Yes. I noticed he took off his shirt several times in the movie. Ha.
It was a surprise that he is a Republican - but I guess no one is gonna
argue with Arnie eh? -=*) ANN (*=-

Subject: Solstice
Date: 01/02/89 Time: 14:19:34
The Associated Press, Dec. 20, 88
WASHINGTON - The winter solstice is nearly upon us again, an
event long celebrated as marking the triumph of the unconquered sun
but today more often dreaded as the start of winter.
Overshadowed in this season of religious holidays and the
approaching new year, the solstice was once the most popular of pagan
celebrations.
It marks the lowest point of the year for the sun's apparent
travel, occurring Wednesday at 8:28 a.m. Arizona time, according to
the U.S. Naval Observatory.
After the solstice, the sun will begin spreading its warming
rays farther and farther north until reaching a zenith at the summer
solstice in June.
Primitive societies often developed complex folk tales about the
change in seasons and learned to celebrate the winter solstice as a
time of rebirth foreshadowing the coming return of summer.
Indeed, sociologists say many aspects of this event were
incorporated into Christian festivities marking the birth of Jesus.
To residents of ancient Rome, the season was known as Saturn-
alia and was celebrated with raucous merrymaking.
The Germanic tradition called Yule remains popular in many
areas, however. That feast incorporated burning of a special yule
log, decorating with plants such as holly and drinking wassail toasts.

The "In God We Trust" motto which appears on some of our
currency may one day turn out to be a big deficit. If intelligent
beings from another world were to look us over, they most probably
would bypass our country as a meeting site with our leaders. They
would put us down in their log as superstitious and to be avoided.

P.S. Just thought you'd like to know.

There is a long story behind this catagory! (hehe)
I asked Cliff to put it up, while Pat S. and I were over there at Cliff's
house tonight, and he said no, so when he went over to sit down at his other
computer, I pulled the chair out, and *WHAM*! CLiff hit the floor...
Consequently, he put up 'my' category!!!! Hehehehe...
Actually, he did it the first time I asked, and the chair thing was a BIG
accident. Pat wanted to make a contribution to Apollo, but wanted Cliff to
break a $20, so Cliff went up stairs to get change, and came down with, I
think was, well I don't know what kind of gun it was, but it was Sandy's
Christmas present, anyways, Pat said Cliff could have the whole $20 if he
wanted it that bad!!!! Heheheheheheeeeee
Sorry about the chair incident CLIFF, Please forgive me!!!

It was a fine parade. We didn't go to it but saw it on the tempo channel on
cable. Was glad to see there was a lot less Majorettes showing their butts
this year. That is a subject that always stuck in my craw. Why is it the
women always appear half undress in freezing weather and the men are always
dressed?
Another thing is the Queen and princesses. Where the hell is the king? Why
just a queen? The ideal would be to choose a man and woman with the highest
grades in their senior year of highschool and each would have 6 runner ups
grade wise. Every year they would come from a different school and would be
told in advance at the start of the term. What a thrill it would be for
those students to be choosen for their scholoristic acievements instead of
something like beauty that one happens to be born with and can take no
credit for.
Another thing - why wasn't our local boy Carbohol that won the silver medal
in the Olympics the grand marshal instead?
But out side of those things - it was a beautiful parade and the floats were
A-one. -=*) ANN (*=-

I don't know what other Christians think, but I think evolution Vs.
Creationism is not the point. To me, THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION ONLY!!!
I don't care how or if we evolved. I believe GOD created us, whether if it
was by evolution, creation, or something we haven't thought up yet, it
doesn't matter. God created us, how is not important. Just be happy
knowing that he did and he loves us.
To you non-Christians, just think how boring it would be if you couldn't
argue the existence of God to Christians, EH???
Again, This Is MY Personal Belief.
Well, have at this, EH???

I have a Cherry Picker and an Engine stand for sale... The Cherry Picker
is a 'high' end cherry picker but it has done SEVERAL engine jobs...
1: 250 L6
2: 454 V8 Short Block
3: 318 V8 Long Block
4: 262 V6 Long Block - had everthing but A/C Compressor on it...
5: 400 V8 Long Block (SMALL BLOCK Chevy)
6: And several 4 bangers
The engine stand has a 750 Pound rating but has had a Big Block/Long Block
429 with a tunnel ram and alot of the accessories on it...
The cherry picker new was $279.00 and the engine stand was around $40.
I want $150.00 for both of them... WHAT A DEAL!

Well, I *will* say this....
It's kinda nice to have a team again who doesn't shoot from the outside all
the time, or rather, who doesn't stand on the outside passing the ball round
and round. It's kinda nice to have a team again where you don't sit waiting
for them to fall apart. It's kinda nice to have a team you can admit has
good potential. About the stadium, I don't know...I just know it's kinda
nice to have a team that isn't coached by John McLeod.
Go, Cotton! The Gin is grinding!

Subject: Carol/Suns
Date: 01/02/89 Time: 05:31:26
My point Carol dear, was not the Suns as a team. For that I couldn't care
less. My point is that COlangelo can't fill the very nice stadium he now has
available to him, the Coliseum. I can't think of even one valid reason why
we, the taxpayers of this city, including those of us who are not fans,
should lay out one red cent to buy him an even bigger playhouse.
According to the proposals I have seen, Colangelo would own the new
downtown facility. He would be getting suport from us to the tune of some
$94 million over the next 10 or 20 years. We the people would furnish him
with the land (a gift apparently), parking space, tax writeoffs, and some
other perks that slip my mind, plus a fat chunk of the building cost.
His only arguments are that he would be able to use the facility (for his
profit, of course) for many other events, such as ice shows, hockey, etc.
All these are now performed very nicely at our present COliseum, which is
owned by the state and which brings revenue to our coffers instead of to
Colangelo's bank account. As far as I'm concerned, the whole deal stinks,
and the city council is falling right into line with it.
I just hope that we the people have some say in the matter. Like a vote.
Mine is NOWAY!!!

P.S. And I AM NOT NEGATIVE.......you have a bad habit of reading me wrong.
Do you think I could have raised such a large family if I was a negative
person. Hell, I'd meet people who would say dumb things like, "Well, I'll be

think those things.
I just see it as it is. Less than intelligent animals on a planet
throwing bombs at each other. There is hope, my friend, but neither one of
us may be around to see it.
