1:I almost forgot to answer your question about locksmiths needing perfect
2:vision. The best locksmith I have ever met, Leroy Schellenbaum, was near
3:legally blind, had very poor eyesight, wore thick glasses and when
4:'impressioning a key', wore a cheap, dollar pair, scratched up lenses,
5:head-wear magnifiers. That man could impression anything and very fast.
6:
7:Whenever I feel blue or tired and I have more work to do, I think of Leroy
8:and his ailments. He had many.
9:
10:Prior to locksmithing, Leroy retired as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force.
11:He served as line mechanic and line mechanic M/S for 20 some years and when
12:he retired, after serving all over the world, he became a literal
13:stormtrooper of locksmithing. He is built like a Roman Soldier and that is 4:what he reminded me of.
15:
16:So, the answer to your question, in order to be a locksmith, all you need is
17:the desire. Handicapped or no, we each develop ways of doing similiar
18:functions that are adequate.
19:
20:There is some independence in Locksmithing although I would watch out for
21:building a clientele that is 7 day, 24 hours, unless you are willing to
22:train another. If you like traveling then you don't need to stay in a given
23:area but after five years of same, going all over, I can no longer handle
24:it. Take care you, Sandy and the boys. -Rod

Let me say this about the GT. I know this is NOT my GT and maybe I
should not say anything, but... Get Togethers this late in the year (Dec)
very seldom work out. Sandy and I are also fighting back a cold (flu? hope
not) and feel rather run down. Sandy is worse off, as she works long hours.
I would suggest for a better turn out, that the end of the first
month or sometime in the second month (or even later) may be better. But,
this is not up to me... Just my two cents worth!
Also, I do not seem to recall seeing a location. Rod's suggestion
is out of the question as the smog downtown will kill us for sure. I would
like to see one where we can grill hot-dogs for the shooters.

You ask how "one" indentifies righteous people. The answer is probably so
simple that you won't accept it, but I'll try anyway. "One" doesn't. God
does. TO identify anyone as righteous OR unrighteous is, in fact,
judgemental, and that is not really a prerogative of man. It is God's job,
and His alone. The reason for this is that righteosness is really a matter
of the spirit, not always necessarily the outward works, although it SHOULD
show in the works of the individual. WHile all we can see is the works, God
alone knows the heart. I hope that has answered your question.
Since I have not bashed your unbelief, please respond in kind, and don't
use this as another excuse to bash my belief. Thanks.

I'm sorry Gordon. It isn't often that I disagree with you so strongly, but I
just cannot believe that the .... "reporter is doing the kid a favor by
stimulating him to ask questions". I don't think parents send their kids to
school to have them make statements to the press. If that had happened to
one of my children, out of general principal, whether he/she knew all about
AIDS, gays, etc. - I'd raise holy heck. Years ago they gave my kid an I.Q.
test without my permission and wouldn't give me the results. I don't feel
that was within their rights either. As long as parents don't abuse their
children outright, it is their responsibility and no one else's to teach
those children how and what they want them to know. Not my neighbor's
responsibility and certainly not a reporter. I'm an advocate of 'people

thing I do is with the media hype. The media is 'faddie' - they keep things
up front to sell papers. Well that's understandable, but they go too far. I
think with this AIDS thing - as deadly and threatening as it is - could be,
they are scaring the hell out of us for very little reason - at least at
this point. Someone dies from it for example and we are treated to 'his last
moments of life'! If some innocent child has it, they hype that until we are
all crying. But it is rare to get it innocently! Yet with all the hype, we
are scared to get near an AIDs patient - we want our doctors and dentists to
wear gloves and heaven help us if we need a transfusion. Because of the
latter, some people have died because they wouldn't get a transfusion, yet
it is very safe to do so now. -=*) ANN (*=-

Show me the statistics that there are "hundreds of thousands" of people that
die each year from those two diseases that didn't get it from a smoking
related cause, and I will just as sympathic. Unless of course, they are
overweight...
The problem seems to lie with this: everyone is upset about the money.
Well, if AIDS is the biggest problem right now, then I think the money
should be put towards it's research, proportional to the other diseases.
But AIDS may not be the biggest problem. It's still heart disease.
I don't know. It's all petty. One will want the money to go to the disease
that is effecting them the most. It's just a matter of personal perception.

Thank you for pointing that out. It's easy to miss a little point like
that, because foreigners aren't really very important, are they?
On 28th of June (I think), I put up a few posts recalling the assassination
of Franz Ferdinand and his wife 77 years previously, and noted that it might
not be the last time Serbian ambitions would lead to serious trouble. Oddly
enough, there wasn't one single comment.
Subsequently I had a curious experience. I went to Europe in September, and
I got the impression that a civil war had broken out in Yugoslavia exactly
at the time I arrived there. It was on the front pages of all the
newspapers (including the International Herald Tribune), almost every day
for over two weeks.
It seemed to die down the instant I arrived back in the U.S. It certainly
didn't *end*, because now I was *noticing* those news items about bombing
and hundreds of civilians being killed, tucked away on page 3 and page 7.
But when I dug back through the older newspapers, I now realized that this
catastrophic event was going on all the time really. It just wasn't deemed
worthy of the front page in a U.S. newspaper at the time.

Subject: Ann/Kids' Press Conf
Date: 12/04/91 Time: 22:31:18
I'm trying to understand what it is you're afraid of. As I mentioned
before, I didn't see this TV interview so I don't know precisely what was
said; but the impression I got was that reporters asked the kids whether
they knew about Magic Johnson's illness, and if they knew what it was, and
what they thought and felt about it all. The kids talked back and gave
their opinions. There was a two-way information flow, but I inferred that
most of it came from the kids -- since the reporters commented on how
knowledgeable they were. It didn't sound as if reporters were "educating"
the kids, or telling them "you get AIDS from anal intercourse", or whatever.
So what precise element of this procedure don't you like? You think kids
shouldn't be allowed to make statements to the press? Why shouldn't they?
Do you think it's exploiting kids by making them look bad in public? How?
Are you afraid it's going to reflect badly on their parents in some way?
How? This interview doesn't seem to have made either of them look bad.
Anyway, freedom of speech is a right protected by the First Amendment. I
don't remember anything about an age limit in there.
I'd object to reporters prying out information about the kids' families and
broadcasting it. That would be exploiting kids' naivete to invade the
privacy of others. But that isn't what they did. What they asked the kids
about was entirely in the public domain. If you think the reporters should
have minded their own business, whose privacy do you think was violated, and
how? What private information was published that shouldn't have been?

Do you think this was a kind of testing procedure like the IQ test they gave
your child? In a way I suppose it was. I wouldn't object to tests, since
they're a necessary way of getting feedback about how well education is
working. I would object violently to having the results deliberately kept
secret from me, since I'm paying the educators. But nothing was kept secret
in this interview.
Do you object to reporters asking children math or geography questions at
random, to demonstrate how much or how little they know of these subjects?
I wouldn't have any objection to this. I think it's useful and a matter of
public interest to know how well children are being educated. If they come
off badly, the public *ought* to know, so that they can demand that the
educators they're paying get off their butts and do their job -- or so that
parents themselves can do something about teaching their children.
Or is your real objection to the fact that somebody *told* these kids of the
existence of AIDS, or sex, or something related to it? I noted carefully
your assertion that "it is [parents'] responsibility and no one else's to
teach those children how and what they want them to know." Well, I agree
that it's the parents' responsibility to teach a child what they want them
to know. But they can *always* exercise that right. Who's stopping them?
Or are you telling me that a parent should *also* have the right to keep a
child in total ignorance? If so, that's quite a different argument.

What I think about anal intercourse, by Rod Williams
I think poop comes out of there....well, I know for a fact that poop
comes out of there. The anus is a release point for toxins and waste.
Why would someone want to put a penis in one? A penis has two main
purposes, one is for taking a pee, which humans do more often than the
second purpose......cuming. Climaxing is totally natural but often is
forced because of false leads to the brain box. In a natural
environment the female secrets a chemical that can drive a man wild,
wild, wild, beyond belief. This odor is a natural arousal to
hetro-sexuals and bi-sexuals. But because we live in a less than
perfect environment, we haven't gotten it right. Sex seems to be more
of a pastime because of un-natural stimuli found in our society. The
way we look at sex is tainted by a society who bases wealth on it.
Peep show 25 cents.
Sex is okay, and since it is the thing that feels best, most like
a mental heaven, then we become addicted to it. Friendship is the
very best. A mental climax is ten times more powerful and lasts for
weeks, even months. That is when your minds meld and you know you are
friends. Those who marry for a steady supply of sex should cultivate
that which transcends it, friendship. Friendship is knowing that you
are one, that all are one. That you cannot love one friend more than
another, that no one is the greater.
