You're mistaken, Nick. Carefree isn't the high-fashion Mecca of the world.
You're thinking of El Pedregal, where one can blow his whole wad and see
strange neon paint all at the same time.

Seriously, though... El Pedregal and The Boulders are quite interesting.
Here we have a resort and shopping center that insisted upon being annexed
by Scottsdale, YET they advertise themselves as being in Carefree.

Real text from today's Dear Abby:

"Dear Abby: On our honeymoon I was horrified to discover that I had
married a champion snorer. I used elbows and feet for temporary relief.
Now we sleep in twin beds and I keep a yardstick under my bed. When Michael
starts snoring, I get the yardstick and whack him with it. Now, as soon as
he hears me reaching for the yardstick, he shuts up.
                                     Michael's Wife"

There is something definately macabre in this contest of wills. One can
only assume that the man is not a light sleeper, since he can sleep soundly
through his abominably loud snoring. Yet, he can apparently hear
his wife reaching for a yardstick. Since they sleep in seperate beds, and
since a sleeping man has his eyes closed, we can also assume that he cannot
discern her actions by either touch or sight. Since the other two senses,
gustatory and olfactory, are obviously irrelevant, it must be inferred that
he only pretends to sleep, otherwise he would have no means (barring
metaphysical means) with which to know the actions of his wife.
Thus we have a condition where, night after night, this man pretends to
sleep, while simulating the most horrific noises, while on the other hand,
his wife waits patiently for the moment when she might have a chance to
thrash him with a yardstick.
Bertolt Brecht should have such an imagination.

Hi, I'm Joseph Sobran, writing for the Universally Gullible Press Syndicate.
Today saw publication of my column on Mr. William "Bob" Shakespeare, whom
scholars agree, if he ever existed, was mythical. Others think that he was
Francis Bacon, or possibly Roger Bacon; I can never get the two straight. A
few academicians, from the sheer prolixity of his work, feel that Stephen
King, using a time-machine, was responsible. This theory finds some support
in the discovery of the words "thermonuclear" and "jazzercise" -- in the
Octavo edition. As You Like It also appears in the Octavo edition under its
original title, Like You Like It.

Personally, I think Shakespeare was none other than Edward de Vere, Earl of
Oxford. I base this absurd theory largely on the fact that they both liked
the words "repugn" and "consanguinity", and because they both used the word
"remembrance" a lot. Other uncanny coincedences include the fact that
Oxford, in a letter to Lord Burghley, says "I serve her Majesty, and I am
that I am." In King Lear, the Earl of Kent says "I serve his Majesty." And
in one of Shakespeare's sonnets, the phrase "I am that I am" is used.
Popeye once said "I yam what I yam", while Descartes once said "I think,
therefore I am."
This phrase, "I am that I am", was also attributed to Jehovah in the Old
Testament, an indication to me, at least, that Moses , Popeye, and Descartes
were all the same person, a composite figure reconstructed by snotty, white-
tower professors who sat around picking their noses and dreaming up wild
theories.

For all you who enjoy soap's here's some info.

Well we all have heard that the reason they call them soap opera's is
because they were supported by the sellers of soap products.

And we have all heard of thoses crazy people that claim that
the soaps contain parts of their lives.

WEll here is an honest to goodness definition of SOAP

a device for the conceptualizing the process of recording
the progress notes in the problem-orientated record.

S : indicates subjective data obtained from the patient and others
    close to him.
O : designates objective data obtained by observations, phsyical
    examinations, diagnostic studies, ect.
A : refers to assessment of the patient's status through analysis
of the problem, possible interaction of the problems, and
changes in the status of the problems.
P : designates the plan for the patient care.
