        Rod, the country is always going to pot according to the news media.
We are better off now then we were ten years ago...etc.  The only thing
going to pot is our freedoms, social security, air pollution, roads, United
States Postal Service and the Ozone layer.....  Come to think of it, you are
right!

 I will also give great credit to the news media for their campaigns,
especially channel 10, (since that is the one I watch mainly), and massive
plaudits to the valley fire departments for their efforts in this direction.
Problem is, with all the education gong on, we still have incidents every
single weekend, and in almost every case, we hear the same, weak alibi. "I
just went in for a minute to answer the phone." With today's technology,
there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for anyone who can afford
$10-15,000 or more for a pool not having a cordless phone at poolside, the
best of which can be had for around $150, or less. It still seems that all
the education in the world has still failed to break the ignorant attitude
that says "it can't happen here". Until it does. The answer? There is no
single answer that will resolve this horror. Unless and until we can instill
a sense of personal responsibility in everyone, we are going to continue to
hear the wail of the sirens through our neighborhoods as they race to try
and save yet another baby from the nightmare of yet another backyard pool.

radical Black Panthers, was shot to death yesterday.
 That was the only Huey I saw mentioned. Or did he change his name and take
