He is infiltrating this board!
One day, when you least expect it,
he will announce his sudden conversion.
Then he'll spill his guts,

1: No way Jose! I'll give you my impression of the typical Christian.
2:Several weeks ago, late in the evening, I was on my patio just going to

4:rather loud sound of breaking glass as if my van's window was being broken.
5:I jumped up, only in my shorts and gave chase. Half a block down the street
6:I caught two teenage males, had a neighbor who heard the commotion phone the

9: Around the neck of the bigger of the two hung a chain with a cross

Yes LLoyd, I know I could never convince Paul with facts... I just
have fun watching a right wing liberal extreamist doing his dance of
misqotes. Did you hear him today call Quayle a BELOW average student on
KFYI... I had a good laugh. As far as the experts understand, a "C" is
average. Quayle may not have been a straight 'A' student, but he did not
get below a 'C' on anything. He also got 'B's and 'A's on some subjects as
I understand.... But that is all the garbage the Democrats can come up with
so why not FALSLY say he was a "BELOW AVERAGE STUDENT"... makes good press
and sells papers...
I joined the Navy during the Vietnam Conflict... I did not wish to
join the National Gaurd as I did not want to fight in some damn jungle.
Knowing SOME Gaurd units get called up and some don't...I chose the NAVY!
The Democrats have you believeing because Quayle did not have a 'Death Wish'
for himself, he is unpatriotic.... Pure BULL$hit! Grasping at straws and
not talking issues.

P.S. Note the ote on Apollo... even the Libertarians are ahead of the
Democrats.... And Apollo's Votes have not been far off in predicting the
outcome. (Now this ote may be a little early, a lot can happen in the
next few months. We will re-run this ote again a little before the real
one to see if there is a change)

Paul is correct that Reagan is no friend of labor -- if by "labor" we mean
organized labor. Unions have systematically attempted to stop competition
from less skilled, poorer workers (often minorities). If a business did
what they do, liberals would be screaming "monopoly" and "anti-trust."
Ironically, those hurt by unions are the very ones liberals claim to be
wanting to help. But through racist legislation such as the Davis-Bacon
Act, unions have all but locked out the poor from the labor force.
The Economist had an interesting article last week on the NAIRU
(Non-Accelerating-Inflation Rate of Unemployment), which is what economists
call the minimum unemployment rate that can be achieved without inflation.
The U.S. unemployment rate is BELOW what economists thought was the NAIRU --
and Europe's is around 11%, yet without inflation. So it appears that the
NAIRU is capable of change -- and many economists credit Reagan's tough
anti-union policies (particulary the PATCO firings) for such a low
unemployment rate.
Eliminate barriers to employment, and many of the people trapped in poverty
will be able to work their way out.

Date: 08/22/88 Time: 21:57:38
The vote is interesting (I'm not sure it really is accurate, since I doubt
Paul will get more votes than Dukakis in the actual election). But it isn't
that important; if the last nine elections are any clue, Arizona will go
Republican. California is a far more important state, and it appears to be
up for grabs. Here's the results from a San Diego BBS:
This poll ran for two weeks from the day after the Democratic convention:
President of the United States will be.....(first straw poll).....
1:Bush - Republican : 57 46.3%
2:Dukakis - Democratic : 56 45.5%
3:other candidate/party : 3 2.4%
4:no comment : 7 5.7%
Total 123
These are the results so far from the poll put up the day after the
Republican convention:
1:Bush - Republican : 43 64.2%
2:Dukakis - Democratic : 20 29.9%
3:other candidate/party : 2 2.0%
4:no comment : 2 2.0%

I agree, but the Sysop didn't want to change the wording once it had started
out that way. There was an agreement on the board that the vote should be
for who you WANT to win; it's difficult to say whether the wording caused
any distortion.

Right, and the same is true of his 25 year-old snowblower. He has a net
worth over a million. This is nothing compared to his running-mate,
however. But more interesting is the net worth of their fathers. The order
there is (I think) Bentsen, Quayle, Bush, Dukakis. I'm guessing somewhat,
but all of them come from wealthy families. One article I read mentioned
that Bentsen's father was several times wealthier than Bush's.
I can't see how it is at all relevant, however.

With all this hooplah over the V.P - one would think they are running for
the highest office in the land! Are the Pres. candidates so boring and blah
that the press and people have to focus on the second in line to create a
little interest? Quayle is handsome alright - but so what? Bush could lose
having this jerk running with him. Bentson is a plastic faced, typical baby
kissing politician. He also looks like he had a face lift recently. Dukakis
still looks like a B-movie, cheap hood even with those $100 suits. And Bush
- he looks like a faded, tired old man that walks such a stright line, that
if it ended abruptly at a cliff - he'd just walk over the edge before taking
another path. Yeah - I know I'm talking about 'appearences' again - but what
else is there about these four? Certainly NOT presidential stuff! I've read
about all they profess to believe in - their records - their promices - but
don't believe most of it. I have discussed this with many people - both
democratic and republican that say the same thing - but they'll vote the
'lesser of two evils'!! No wonder people have became apathetic at the polls!

Reagan a friend of labor? My hynie!
He has destroyed more labor organizations, put more Americans out of decent
paying jobs, and created the poorest climate for the working people of this
coountry than has been experienced in years! Look at the trade deficit! What
do you think that means? I'll tell you what it means. It means that every
foreign car that runs on American roads means that many more Americans out
of work, and that much more American dollars supporting the alreadt healthy
economy of Japan, Korea or some other foreign country that we had to beat in
the last several wars, and which we are now supporting at the cost of the
American taxpayer.
Why don't you and some of your conservative friends get your collective head
out of the sand and see how middle America is getting screwed royally by
your precious second-rate actor and his super-rich friends, all of whom
probably have interest in those foreign companies that are getting
prosperous at our expense! Wake up and smell the skunks! They're right under
your nose!

Most of the people that are complaining about Quayle joining the
National Guard are NOT upset with him trying to avoid going. What they are
upset with is hypocrisy: We must fight the Commies, but don't send me.
If he came out and said that Vietnam was a stupid, pointless war (pardon me,
"police action") and that anyone with any brains wouldn't support it, and
*that's* why he went into the National Guard, then the liberals would leave
him alone. In fact, it might gain him some Democratic crossover votes. The
far right, on the other hand, would be livid, and would demand that Bush
dump Quayle.
I think we have thrashed through this labor issue before. It seems to be
a tug-of-war between wages and employment. Sure, you can employ lots of
people if you can pay them as little as you want. I honestly am not sure
what would be the result of dropping labor regulations. It might result in
a full-employment mecca, or it might result in a dramatic drop in wages, and
throw the country into a depression, and be a return to the sweatshops of
the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The free market didn't stop
companies from paying pennies per hour, and working employees 16 hours a
day, seven days a week. I don't see anything but labor regulations that are
stopping that from comming back.

Out of respect for Zak, I thought I would help keep his name alive
by using his Category from time to time.
I, in no way associate myself with the Christian image. They are,
in my opinion, a group of mindless sheep.
On the other hand, to continue our discussion from the art Sig, I
think the devil has more going for him. If it weren't for Satan, places
like the Bush company would not exist and you know, we all need to see
exactly what the female anatomy looks like up close, right?
If there were no devil this world would be full of do-good Christian
twerps and movies such as the Last Temptation would have never been made.
Everything in existance would be narrow and one sided.
Ya know, I've often wondered myself about Jesus and his temptations,
did he masturbate with his right hand, his left hand or because he was the
son of God, was he ambidextrous and was a switch hitter, using both?
Religion is one of the major things that has this world screwed up
real bad.
Aren't you glad you asked?
