LATE SUMMER - EARLY FALL
The shadows grow longer. Wood smoke is ready.
Leaves, still green, The clouds grow heavier.
flutter in the breeze Can the merriment of
and sometimes spin away. children be heard?
The water is sharp Late summer and early fall.
with mazes of brightness. It makes two promises.
It seems to have more substance. One of death!
It closes in around me. One of new life!
The sounds have changed somehow.
The bird's song is more muted
and mellow - less crisp.
The flowers look tired.
The insects seem to be looking
for one last feast.
Their job almost done.
It is time for rest.

Of which "immoral" plank of the Democratic platform am I on the receiving
end?
I certainly don't need an abortion, and if I did, would be opposed to them.
Besides, you made a question out of the statement. Have you read the
platform, or any plank of it? What, specifically, does it say about abortion
on demand?
If you want to talk immoral, let's talk about the silent support that the
Republican ticket gave to Jerry Fallwell's little comic book that depicted
Michael Dukakis as a fag, in drag! That, to me, is immoral, reprehensible
and totally inexcusable! But it's OK with you, I suppose. After all, your
precious Repulsivecans can do no wrong!

Actually, I am not being heavy about this subject. I am not for either
candidate. It's just an amusing stage play put on by both parties in order
to tout their wares. It is always amazing the promices they make and never
keep! - the accusations against each other! I do have one question --- how
does either party (or the people who vote for them) expect to change things
--- expect to use their parties belief's - expect to keep their campain
promices - if the senate isn't basically of the same party? Reagan had some
great ideas during his term - but was voted down by democrats time after
time??!! =*--ANN--*=

No - I won't bet! It's just that I thought that no one could beat Bush -
riding on the coattails of Reagan like he is - but he puts on a poor showing
and needs someone like 'Chrismatic Quayle' to off set his 'Blahness'! So now
I'm not so sure that Ducaca won't slip in there afterall. =*--ANN--*=

Paul, I knew you would "White Wash" my post on the Democrats PRO-
Abortion issue... But I did not realize you would use some sleazy comic
that kills no one, not even babies. The Democrats kill Babies... And if you
are a strong supporter of Democratic ideals... you support Abortion and the
paying for it by Tax revenue.
I do not support that "Comic", but then that is NOT a plank on the
Republican ticket.
I watched the COMPLETE Democratic Convention, as I am interested in
what they have to say... Unlike you, I do not LOCK out all ideals, and I do
not vote a straight ticket... But.... Since the Democrats support Baby
killing, I have no choice but to Vote REPUBLICAN all the way....
Did you watch the COMPLETE Convention, both Republican and Democratic?
Be Honest???? (obviously the Republican one is not over yet)
And pick on issues, not some individual whose morals are questionable
and who is not even running for office.
Welfare people should move to Boston Mass. Responsible people for

Dukakis is VERY anti gun! Look at what he has done in
Massachusetts.
Dukakis is favoring federal control of Western water.
Dukakis is Pro-Abortion and as far as I can see, has a lack of
MORALS.
Dukakis is a LIBERAL, and they are even afaid to say the L-WORD
Dukakis has done nothing in BOSTON to fix or even address the
problem of the POLUTED Boston Harbor... he does not care????
Dukakis has been QUICK to release the CRIMINALS from jails.
P.S. Bush ain't perfect either... but... I feel better with him than
I do this easterner guy....the Duke!

I would agree that spending is mainly the province of Congress. But in
that case, it matters not who is president. Even if the Republican wants to
stop spending but can't, the outcome is not differnent from a Democrat that
doesn't want to cut spending. In both cases, spending goes on. Given that,
saying a vote for Dukakis is a vote for higher taxes is not true. Only
votes for individual members of Congress can control that.
There are things I like and dislike on both sides. I think Bush's child
care is better, but I'll bet he'll forget it after the election.
The debates should be interesting, as each side is going to bring up the
things that the other would rather hide. Dukakis isn't going to want to
talk about letting murderers out, and Bush isn't going to want to talk about
secretly selling arms to an avowed enemy of the US, Iran, just as a couple
examples.

Interesting about Quayle being grandson of Eugene Pulliam. Considering
Evan Mecham's feelings about that family, I wonder if he voted for Bush
(sorry, I missed the roll call, as I was at work) and if he did or didn't,
what he has to say about Quayle.
I don't think the voters consider the VP too much when voting. If they
did, the Bush ticket might have some trouble since Quayle is on the
conservitve side. Bush has to capture the moderate Democrats, like Reagan
did, in order to win.

Not as open and shut as you put it A-L-A-N.....
A President that favors a tax increase will SIGN the bill, The President
that is against that tax increase will VETO the bill. This makes it much
harder, but if the major majority WANTs that tax, then it can be sent though
over the Presidents head. Typically when they work together, more will get
done, otherwise it is a lot of compromise. Such as You pass my pet project
and I will pass yours.....
This is what I fear most about getting a Democratic President since
the Congress is TYPICALLY Democratic.... Horror stories to come.....
Why, because I do not believe in give-a-way programs (handouts) using money
that some of us responsible people WORK so hard for.

Why not admit that you are one of those that the Democratic party has left
behind in their move toward liberalism in the last 30 years -- then you,
like Ronald Reagan, Jeanne Kirkpatrick and others -- can join the Republican

That is what we are trying to find out ......
Is there anything wrong with this sig.?
The unfinished story is having difficulty finding its way to the
last page of the book.
I am wondering if we have a clash of tastes as far as stories go.
Will you sig. members rather have 'G', 'PG', and 'PG-13' type
stories told here and move the blood and guts AND sex stories to the WAY
Below Normal sig?
Those who are able to write either type of story can have access to
both sigs. Those who find it easier to write a certain type of story can do
so on either sig. Those who find 'G', 'PG', or 'PG-13 type movies offensive
can belong to the WAY Below Normal sig., and those who find blood and guts
AND sex stories offensive can write in the VOID.
Suggestions?
